Gordon Lightfoot In Person Amazing Success

I have been a fan of the Canadian folk music legend Gordon Lightfoot for many years. I saw he was doing 2 shows here in Ottawa but being a poor student I was unable to afford tickets.
The night of the first show I stood by the stage door but when he came out he quickly got in the waiting vehicle and left. The next day I was walking by the theatre he was performing at and saw the same vehicle waiting outside the stage door, thinking maybe he was doing a soundcheck I decided to go stand by the door again, seeing as I happened to still have the photo I wanted him to sign in a folder I had with me.
After waiting about 15 minutes the door opened and a man came out, he waved me over and introduced himself as Gordon's tour manager. He said he recognized me from last night and basically said it was too bad but Gordon wasn't really in the mood to sign after last night's concert and wanted to get back to the hotel. He asked if I was planning to attend that night's show but I explained that I couldn't afford it despite me wanting to. He then shocked me by pulling out of his jacket 2 backstage passes and gave them to me. He said if I wanted to see the show I was welcome to and he would have 2 free tickets waiting at the box office for me and afterwards come backstage so I could meet Gordon.
So that night myself and a friend went to the Arts Centre where he was performing and sure enough there were 2 tickets, amazing seats, 7 rows from the front and centre. It was a great concert and after the show we went back and Gordon signed my photo and posed for a picture with me. This has to be one of the best successes I have had, I am still flabbergasted over how lucky I was.
