*WALKED DISTANCE FOR THE 28th*
32nd St. to 45th St.
45th St. to 54th St.
54th St. to 67th St.
67th St. to 17th St.
17th St. to 27th St.

Yep! Do the last names look familiar? Well, they better! This is a slight backlog of stuff I've meant to post before.

On April 28 + 29, I spent some excellent time in New York City.

I left my house at 10am on the 28th, and got to NYC at noon. I made my way to the theatre for Christopher Walken's play. After a while, an Escalade pulled up in front of the theatre across the street. I ran over and got Justin Bartha's autograph.
Image

After a little bit more time, Sam Rockwell came and signed for virtually everybody but me. Damn. Walken soon followed behind him. For whatever reason, he just put a little scribble on the Playbill.

Image

After that, I made my way to Letterman to wait for Robert Downey, Jr. I got to the Ed Sullivan Theatre at around 3pm. While waiting, we saw Joan Rivers! I ran across the street as some paparazzi filming her.

Look whose signature matches TTM responses!

Waiting, waiting, waiting... Patience is certainly a trait to have when celeb hunting.

Downey arrived and crossed the street.

I, then, made my way to Barnes & Noble - Lincoln Triangle, for the Gene Wilder booksigning.

Gene's signing started at... 7:30, I believe? He began with a discussion with his wife, Karen, and a Q&A. I recorded it with my digital camera.

I got out of the signing at 8:30pm and made my way to East 17th Street from 67th. I definitely put my walking shoes to use.

Brian Henson's adult-oriented Muppet show is going on there, so I had to bring my copy of 'Muppet Christmas Carol', as it's my absolute favorite Christmas movie. Well... I brought it mainly because Michael Caine did The Daily Show the following day. I only found out about Henson while I was waiting for Walken. What an awesome coincidence! Anyway... I got to the theatre at 9:15. The show was still going on, and continued for about 20 more minutes. The show ended, they opened the doors, and I walked in. I waited in the lobby for a bit, then noticed that Henson was down by the stage talking to people. I made my attack!

Image

"Wait... aren't you going to post the autograph you got?!"
Not yet... Not yet... ;)

My words to Mr. Henson were, "Your family's brought me so much joy throughout my life, and I just wanted to thank you."

I got to my hotel/hostel thingy on 27th Street at around 10:30pm. I checked in, charged my phone, and fell asleep... but not for long!

The next post will start April 29th.

Nice stuff! Sorry about the Walken that really sucks, I plan on going within the next couple of weeks and better not get that same scribble. How long did it take for the Behanding in Spokane people to come out? and if this was matinee how many people were waiting for Chris. And one last question, how was Lend Me a Tenor set up? lots of people? did you happen to see LaPaglia or Shalhoub sign? Sorry for all the questions! Thanks alot!

*Walking on April 29th*
27th St. to 67th St.
67th St. to 66th St.
66th St. to 51st St.
51st St. to 72nd St.
72nd St. to 32nd St.

Rise and shine! It's 5:00am! I gathered my stuff and set out for Regis @ 67th St. I hit McDonalds and arrived outside of Regis at 6am. I've read many stories about people that have seen Steve Guttenberg on his daily jog around this area, so I brought my Police Academy cast photo signed by 4 others JUST IN CASE. Apparently, I saw him twice... Dammit. Next time I head to NYC, I now know which corner to stand on. ;) In case anybody is wondering, stand on the side with the Starbucks... or the next corner over where the Millennium Tower is. A paparazzi told me that this is his where he lives. Apparently Regis and Howard Stern live there, too.

A new friend that I met while waiting for RDJ the previous day met up with me, seeing as though RDJ was the guest on Regis this morning. We made our way down the street to the garage area where the guests and hosts load in. Not long after, Regis showed up, simply walking across the street. Since he lives RIGHT THERE, I guess there isn't any need for a limo driver.

RDJ appeared, but didn't sign on the way in. They garaged the car. Boo. On the way out, he pointed at his watch. Oh well. Thankfully, I got him the day before! I made my way to The View, just to check it out. This was at 66th Street, and 5 blocks West of where I was. I stood around for a little while, hoping to see Hulk Hogan, but then I realized that cared more about people at The Daily Show.

I got to TDS at around 10:30am. I stood at the guest entrance on 51st Street. In case people need to know which door it is, it's the one with the blue awning... well, only awning. I didn't notice anybody on here giving people that information, so I just thought I'd help.

I got to the studio that early with hopes to see Jon Stewart or someone else from the show, but nope! I got lunch at the deli on 51st and 11th. It was a mediocre Corned Beef sandwich. I got a Pepsi, and it expired in December. Avoid it. Go to Subway at 52nd and 11th.

Anyway, I sat there... and stood there... and paced back and forth... and walked around the block... and sat some more... until 4:45pm. Yes, 10:30 to 4:45. That's 6hr 15min for those too lazy to do the math. This is how much Michael Caine means to me. At this point, an old woman came. She had to have been in her early 90s. Two guys came and waited. One of them had an extra 8x10, and offered to buy it from him. "$3?" he asked. "Sounds good to me!" says I.

There we were... the FOUR of us... waiting for SIR MICHAEL CAINE. REALLY?! Where was everyone? His vehicle came with a sign on it saying "Michael Caine. Ready To Rock." Alrighty then! He gladly signed for ALL (four) of us! The sun screwed up my picture that I took, but whatever!

And here it is... my Muppet Christmas Carol DVD cover signed by both Brian Henson and Michael Caine!
Image

The funny part about it is, I sent this to Caine at the US address in the database. The "secretary" did quite a shitty job at it. Thankfully, it was on the blank side of the cover. I got it back about a week or so before this NY trip.

After meeting Michael Caine, I made my way up to 72nd Street to the Triad Theatre to see Michael McGlone in concert. Michael McGlone is the guy with the slicked back dark brown hair that does the newer Geico commercials. "Is Ed 'Too Tall' Jones too tall?" Yes. That guy. He's a FANTASTIC musician! Befriend him on Facebook and stay on the lookout for his updates. Here's a live video of my favorite song of his.

I made my way back down to 32nd St. to catch the NJ Transit train back to Hamilton, NJ. I got home at 3am.

The next post will be about May 10th

It was on Wednesday, so I got Walken as he was going IN to the matinee. Same thing went with Lend Me a Tenor. I didn't see LaPaglia or Shaloub show up, as I left as soon as I got Walken. Sorry I couldn't help in that respect. If you want to try to get people before the Matinee, get there at noon. They usually show up between 1 and 2. The only reason I say "noon" is so you can get comfortable with the area, know the stage doors, etc. Someone told me that people doesn't usually come out between the Matinee and evening shows... especially Walken. I'm not sure if it's the same thing for the Lend Me a Tenor cast.

On May 10, I went to Washington DC to Henry Winkler's book signing.

I got 3 books signed. One is for my friend's daughter. One of the books that I purchased was pre-signed by The Fonz and the coauthor of the book. Excellent!

Only 30 people or so came to the signing. They said "No memorabilia. Only books", so I asked his friend that goes with him to his book signings if I could possibly get my Happy Days picture signed by him. He told me to hang around until after everyone leaves... so I did!

Before the signing started, he spoke for a little while, answered questions, yadeda. I recorded it with my digital camera. The sound is kinda low, so keep your ears open. hah
