Tom Cruise and RUSH

Had a fantastic in person success last Friday from Mr. Tom Cruise and the legendary rock group RUSH.
Tom was a guest on a local talk show that day and since I knew how nice Tom is to his fan's I went down to try to get him to sign a few things.
Oh, I also went for the rock group RUSH that morning at their Star Ceremony on Hollywood Blvd. I wasn't counting on RUSH signing since the Star Ceremonies are a hit and miss. Mainly a miss. I mainly went down for Tom Cruise, but I figure, why not since I was in the area anyway. I arrived at 9:30am but already the barricade was 5 deep with people. There was no way I could get to the front if they indeed signed. It didn't look good. Once the ceremony ended Geddy and Alex ( Neal Pert was a no show! Do you believe that? It's a big honer to get a star on the Walk of Fame and Neal didn't have the decency to attend. ) went right through to the back as it looked like they were leaving. I headed right to the back hoping that maybe they would roll down and sign. After a while I noticed fans were leaving the back but not coming back. Curious I headed back to the front and to my suprise I noticed Geddy and Alex were signing, and A LOT. They took their time going from one section of the barricade to the next. Slowly, after people got their autograph they begain to desperse so I was able to squeeze in the front and get 3 of my albums signed. A major good score since apperances by the band are quite rare. Just too bad Neal didn't show.
Then after getting some lunch I headed down for Tom. By the time I got there at 2, people were already forming a line for the barricade which hadn't even been put up yet. At around 5 security set up the barricade and I was able to get good position in the front. By then there was easily about 100 people.
Tom arrived at around 6 but he just waved and rushed right in. I wasn't going to give up. Though signings here are a rare, I decided to wait it out since Tom is so nice. It was a very long wait but Tom finally came out at around 9. Just as I figured he came right over and started to sign up a frenzy. Though I was in the first area, Tom decided to start at the other end and work his way down. You should have seen it, there was major pushing and shoving by the collectors and especially the stupid ebayers and dealers. I stood my ground and waited patiently for Tom to come to me. When he came to me he signed the four items I had laid out on a board. For some reason Tom stood in my area for a long time, so I was able to pull out another 6 items before he moved on. In all I got TEN ITEMS signed by Tom Cruise! I couldn't believe it!
All in all that day was awesome. Not only did I get TEN Tom Cruises but I also got the legendary band RUSH.
