CINECON 46 CLASSIC MOVIE CONVENTION
Usually with the Labor Day Weekend it's pretty slow out here in Hollywood with the autographing. But one event I look forward to every year is the annual Cinecon Movie Convention and Banquet. This is one of the few conventions that cater to old time Hollywood and that will bring in most of the surviving actors/actresses of the classic era of the silver screen.
Usually the hotel is cool for autograph seekers and fans to "hang" out at the banquet without having to buy a ticket. Unfortunately, our "buddy" Redbull and company pissed off the hotel and unless we had a ticket to the event, we weren't allowed to wait on the property anymore. Apparently he got into a fight with hotel security from some other event.
The event was sold out but I was able to get a good deal on an extra ticket ( originally $85 but I paid $50 ). I really couldn't afford it but considering the names I got, it was well worth it. An extra Bonus was that I sat at Ann Rutherford's/Anne Jeffrey's table. Another thing that's cool about the banquet, is that they always try to sit you with one or two celebrities at your table. Anyway these are the names I got at the banquet:
Ann Robinson
June Foray
Kathy Garver
Ann Rutherford
Anne Jeffrey's
Barbara Rush
France Nuyen
Barbara Luna
Jane Kean
Don Murray
Michelle Lee
Joan Van Ark
Baby Peggy
Marsha Hunt
Richard Chamberlain
Warren Stevens
Theodore Bikel
Marilyn Knowlden
James Karen
Kathlene Hughes
Francis York
Collen Gray
and
Janet Waldo
There were others, but these were the "main" ones I got.
It was a very enjoyable evening. The food was excellent and to be in the company of Hollywood "legends" was a treat!

JAMES KAREN! I'd love to get him to sign my 'Return of the Living Dead', but he never does conventions out here on the East Coast.
Saw Warren Stevens on the list just now... Fantastic actor! He was in one of my favorite Twilight Zone episodes.

Re: CINECON 46 CLASSIC MOVIE CONVENTION
You must be young heyheyhey.
Some of actors/actresses are considered legends in the celebrity world. Ann Rutherford for one, next to Olivia De Haviland, is one of the last surviving people from the classic Gone With the Wind film. If you check IMDB and look up all their credits you will find that these people have done many many many classic movies of the 30's, 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's.
Heyheyhey, you should check out some of the movies from this era. For me, I consider this era the BEST for film. The acting and writing is much more superior than the movies nowadays.
and
Wildchild,
ALL were very nice! That's what I like about the actors/actresses from this era. They are STILL nice to the fans! They are "old school" and don't complain about ebay and the dealers. Also they don't just scribble their name down like most of the current celebs do. They take their time signing and will usually write a nice inscription in addition to signing their name.
Again, next to my yearly Doctor Who Convention, this is my #2 favorite event to attend. It is so fan friendly and you actually get to converse with them as well. The best thing about this event is that NO DEALERS or EBAYERS mess with this.
That's because they don't know better and have no idea who these "real" stars are.
