Al Murray HUGE FAIL. WASTE OF SPACE

Unread post by megamike79 »

I went to see Al Murray at the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall which I have waited 7 months and after it I waited at the stage door with 9 other fans. It was wet and cold and one girl who was waiting was in a wheelchair (remember that). Someone from the Hall did come out asking did any of us have raffle tickets which none of us did so he went back in. None of us knew what he was asking for so we just shrugged it off. So when Al did come out saying that "we do the signing after the show, now it's time to go home" and walks right past a girl in a wheelchair and gets into the waiting car. We were all disappointed.
In the seven months I had my ticket I wasn't told about any raffle tickets, and if it was mentioned at the merchandise stall I never went there because it was on the floor above where my seat was, not everyone wants its or can afford it I didnt have the money to buy anything.

So **** AL MURRAY, I will not be buying anything that has his name on or watch any show that he apears in.
His sketch show, Al Murray's Multiple Personality Disorder, was terrible anyway wasn't even funny.

I will be emailing newspapers and television stations about how fans were treated, I know they most properly won't care but they will be told. If I knew the girl in the wheelchair was I would of urged her to do the same.

my ticket, edited to take name off.

Something about this does'nt quite make sense. He says ''we do the signing after the show, now it's time to go home''. Was'nt this after the show? If so,what the heck is he on about?lol

Either way, no offense, but this is NOT news, so I am not sure why newspapers/television news would be interested. As much as it pains me to say (as this guy sounds like a jerk), he is not under obligation to sign, even for a wheelchair bound person.

After every show he does, he has a signing inside the venue where it's possible to get something signed, provided you have seen the show. This is fairly well known, as I know and I've never seen him live. It's his way of stopping people who haven't seen the show getting his autograph.

It's hardly TV / radio news, since he held a signing afterwards! and if you do meet him like that (or indeed, for example, at awards) he is a great chap.

There's an official signing, almost like a booksigning, after every one of his shows. That's what he meant, these people just didn't go to that, and instead went to the stage door.

Just because your in a wheelchair makes no diff i mean dont people in wheelchairs want to be treated as equals so that makes no diff its not like she deserves special treatment for being disabled. I would just let it go because writing letters to papers will only make u look stupid in the end and its not exactly a top news story !

He didn't "diss" anyone. He did a signing after the show, these people didn't go to it, they went to the stage door. Al never signs at stage doors.

James has it spot on, it's well known that Al doesn't sign anything before or after the show at the stage-door; but does hold a signing inside for ticket-holders. No-one waits at the stage door for him here now as he simply states he's signing inside after the show. Not totally sure about at his hotel, but I've only ever heard of him signing official merchandise here inside at his sit-down signing.

I had to travel several hours to the other end of the country to get my book signed, that was the only way for me to get an autograph without paying for a show ticket, and I'm not so much a super-fan of his work to do that :P
