I am kinda new at this one so please bear with me :D I have gotten celebs at book signings, venues, etc but are you allowed to bother a celeb after they are done filming a movie? Or is is security mega tight? They are shooting a movie about 2 hrs from me and my friend and I are dying to meet some of the stars but I am not sure how it works. Can you even get near them?? Is everything blocked off??? Any help would be appreciated  I'd hate to waste 2 hrs driving all the way and find out I cannot even get near anything.

Well, you shouldn't really "bother" them anywhere... but under some circumstances, you may be able to watch filming. It depends what is being filmed, and if it's a closed set. Friends have mine have witnessed filming of various British TV shows, and one or two watched filming of the new Fright Night film. It varies from film-to-film (and star-to-star). If you wait patiently, stay quiet and are polite, a runner may bring over the stars IF they have time and are willing.

This generally is only the case for outdoor scenes. Film sets and studios are out of bounds. But if it's outdoors, if you speak to security/ a runner and mention why you're there, they may be able to accomodate you (it helps if there's a specific person you're interested in). Even if it's a closed set, there may be places that you can at least get a view of the comings-and-goings. They may of course say "no way" and shoo you off the land... but that's the risk we take.

I am speaking about outdoor shots or around town. They are shooting in various places but the question is trying to find them  Oh so even if it is outdoors or they are shooting outdoors it is still a closed set?

I believe there was an IP from Ashley Tisdale VIA the Hellcats TV Set.
So I guess it really depends on the person. :)
Good Luck! Hope your day doesnt get wasted..LOL.

No if it's outdoors you may be able to watch. It depends on the crew really, one production's rules will be different to another. Of course, they may close the set (and have barriers up and what not to keep you away) if there's a particularily sensitive scene and they dont want distractions, or perhaps explosions or stunts etc. I'm afraid it's pot luck :)

Personally, I just think its about how famous the stars and movie is as a whole.
For movies that have extremly famous people like let's say, robert pattinson or miley cyrus; there is hardly any chance you will be able to see them. But if the stars aren't that famous and set photos aren't leaking everyday, its worth a shot!

I have been checking up with my autographing friends since they live there and according to them it is very, very hard to obtain autographs. Security has been super tight and the actors have been very business like.
