Hugh Laurie , in Manchester , UK on Saturday night

Hi there
Went to Manchester , to the RNCM ( music college ) , on Saturday night , where Hugh Laurie was playing one of his dates on his short UK tour . Couldn't get a ticket , and the music really isn't for me anyway , but thought I'd give it a go to try and meet him anyway .
Got there , went to the bar with friends for a chill , at what , it seemed , was almost the same time as he arrived - needless to say , I missed him beforehand , although , on one of my walks round the venue to the Stage Door , I did manage to see him walking up some stairs ( out of the way of the people he expected were waiting for him , probably ) .
Went for food , came back at about the time the gig was due to end . Only about 5 at Stage Door , but as soon as the show ended that became more like fifty . To add to the fun , the heavens opened up - real strong rain storm . Luckily , there was a little cover near the SD . Somebody coming out for a smoke said there was absolutely no way he would come out , at which time nobody whatsoever left
After another 20-30 minutes , one of Hugh's friends came out and said that as we had all waited for him , he would come out for a short time , as long as nobody shoved or pushed . Out he came , people were generally quite polite . He signed for a bunch ( certainly not everybody ) , posed somewhat for photos , and was very polite , although he seemed to be acting as though he wasn't really doing this , more like having a bit of a nightmare ( get the idea he isn't exactly a big fan of big crowds and maybe not used to being the centre of attention ) .
I got one photo signed , my wife got one for my mum , our friends arrived a bit late , got in the queue , but didn't get anything else signed .
All in all , quite happy to have got anything
