Hi, sorry if this isn't the right place to post this. What do people think of the big film premiers (e.g. twilight, harry potter etc) are they any good for getting autographs or are there so many people there that its a waste of time?

Debating trying to go to some to fill some gaps in my collection but dont really want to waste time and money and holiday days from work if its a hopeless effort.

All I can tell you good luck. I say go. Perimere are 50/50 if you are lucky.

The earlier you arrive at the event the better your chances to secure a spot that will yield the most successes. Just went to my first premiere last month....Kung Fu Panda 2 .....got Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, Seth Rogen, and Dustin Hoffman....missed Jack Black, Lucy Liu, and Danny McBride because of being a little too far from the stage entrance by only arriving 2 hours early, I guess. Dustin signed for everyone. Angelina and Brad signed nearly as much and Seth picked my section and left pretty quickly. The others didn't sign much at all....so as was said earlier its a 50/50 proposition, but definitely worth it.

thats funny Lucy Liu signed alot after words as did Danny Mcbride. sticking around after the premiere is not a bad idea. either.

Never been to a premiere so I can only give you advice people have given me

1) be there early if its something like Twilight or Harry Potter. If you want to be near the front, where most actors/actresses sign, you'll possibly have to camp out a few days.

2) choose your location for the premieres wisely. An example of this was the Harry Potter and the deathly hallows part one premiere in new york city. FAIL. the fans were blocked off from the red carpet are were across the road to where the stars actually were. Security wouldnt let the stars interact with the fans and vise versa. The only person who actually came across the road was Tom Felton and I think he signed for like 5 people before security came. If you were willing to get the best bet, for Harry Potter I would choose the London premiere and for Breaking Dawn I would chose the LA premiere.

3) Dont get your hopes up. Because sometimes things dont go as planned (DHP1 premiere). Go there for the fun of it and if you choose location wisely and be there before time you'll get a good response.

Go as often as you can to a premiere. You will learn more with every time.

Try to be early at the red carpet. If you can get a place in the first row near the point where the stars arrive (or near the entrance of the cinema), that's half of the battle.

Be patient. And I mean: Be really patient. Quite often you have to wait for 6 or 8 hours. Sometimes you have to wait for the end of the premiere.

Try to communicate to the stars. Don't scream their names, don't be loud or sassy. Don't try to force them to sign for you. Be friendly, try to look into the eyes of the star - and then ask if they could sign. I had some good successes with this method.

Don't fear the crowd. In the most cases there will be 10 or 20 people behind you. They push and hit you to get their own successes.

It's never over until it's over. Use every chance you can get. Sometimes the smallest chances are the best chances.
