NASCAR Driver Ricky Rudd Meeting

Well I'm not a big NASCAR fan per se, but one thing intrigued me about Ricky Rudd. I did some research on him prior to meeting him and found out the he and I grew up about 10 miles away from each other in Virginia Beach. When we told each other where we had gone to school and grew up, we knew exactly where each other lived and still visit to this day due to us having family and friends in that area still. He took about 10 minutes and talked to me and my kids about racing and growing up in Virginia Beach etc. When my son told him he wanted to be a race car driver, Ricky told him to stick to baseball, football or working at a nuclear power plant... something safer than being a race car driver. I loved it! He was just awesome and signed my photos and took a few with us and then signed some stuff for the kids too! Just a great day for in person meetings. This again was at the St. Louis World of Wheels custom auto show.

Whoa!!! That's one awesome success!!! I've always really admired Ricky Rudd...he's one of the few very respectful drivers in NASCAR . It's really neat that you and him have so much in common too ! Congratulations again...it sounds like you and your family had a great time !
