Re: J K Rowling Autograph for sale
How much are you asking for it?
Re: J K Rowling Autograph for sale
Considering signed Rowling books go in the thousands a signed card should at least go for a $100 or so. You shouldn't sell it for less. She is a very rare autograph!
Re: J K Rowling Autograph for sale
Not really....last 2 that have been on ebay have gone for £25 and £40, and the £40 one was a charity auction.tardis2006johnb wrote:Considering signed Rowling books go in the thousands a signed card should at least go for a $100 or so. You shouldn't sell it for less. She is a very rare autograph!
Re: J K Rowling Autograph for sale
Not really true at all. Thats like saying a signed jersey of Cal Ripken is worth the same as a little card he sends out. The books are so valuable because she did extremely limited book signings and even if you lived in the area where she was signing there were lines of thousands to compete with when she was only signing a few. Also the books that are really signed (1/100 on Ebay are real) have a special seal on them that the bookstores did when she signed them for authenticity.tardis2006johnb wrote:Considering signed Rowling books go in the thousands a signed card should at least go for a $100 or so. Id say $30 because she doesnt normally sign.
Re: J K Rowling Autograph for sale
Don't let people rip you off. $30 is way too cheap for a Rowling index. If you can't pay the price then let someone who can. So what if the signature is on a card. She isn't a common signature to get and is rare. I'm basing the pricing on this NOT because the signature is JUST on a card.
Re: J K Rowling Autograph for sale
The £25-40/$40-60 price I posted is based on REAL recent sales. These were just before Christmas, so I think real sales at that time of year are more accurate than you saying "its rare". Just because shes rare doesnt make it massively valuable, the item its signed on plays a huge part. A book would rightly dwarf that card in terms of price.tardis2006johnb wrote:Don't let people rip you off. $30 is way too cheap for a Rowling index. Thanks jason for your help, you might not think it'll go much any other time but I always believe one mans junk is anothers treasure, Ive had things worth £2.50 go for £170 because someone wanted it so much :shock:many years ago

No way mate. I wasnt offering anything just stating what that card is worth. Theres a fellow on here thats listed a Daniel Radcliffe signed photograph for $30. Trust me when I say Daniel Radcliffe is much more valuable of a signature. Anyway hope you sell your stuff for a right price.tardis2006johnb wrote:Don't let people rip you off. $30 is way too cheap for a Rowling index. If you can't pay the price then let someone who can. Hi
Firstly, because it is a signed card, prices can vary. There is always a conflict between market price and personal consumer value. Anything can happen at any time. You may get $10 or $100, but thats just how the market works. Books are the most appealing of JK Rowling's as they carry sentimental and probably long-term value. A Card is just any old item (in relation to collecting).
Personally, if your looking to raise funds, I would keep this autograph aside. It may appreciate in value or it may even depreciate, but the fact that you have one that not alot of people get, Id say just keep it for your collection and find other items that you can sell. (You can PM items and I can see which can be appropriately sold)
Quite honestly, sell of items that can possibly reobtained in the near future - JK Rowling is not exactly a walk in the park to obtain.
Hope I help
Cheers
