Majorly awesome Tom Hiddleston SUCCESS!!!!!!!!!!

I can't remember the date of when I sent out my request for an autograph to Tom, but it was sometime in November, I THINK, although it could have October (I should have made a note), but today, March 5th, I got a response! I sent him a letter, and a SASE, along with a printed out picture, and he actually signed the picture that I sent him, instead of one of the pre-signed photos he has. I used the Hamilton Hodell address. Went through a LOT to get it all together, it was really complicated sending it overseas, with postage to the US. At first I bought a bunch of IRCs, but then the Hodell website said that they were no longer accepting IRCs, so I had to actually buy British stamps. Finally managed to get some through the Royal Mail website.

I was so, so, so, so, so, SOOOOO excited today when I saw that package from England! SOOOOOOOO awesome! And it's just insane that he signed the picture that I actually sent him, instead of one of the pre-signed pictures. Not that I would have complained at ALL about one of the pre-signed photos, but it was so cool that he signed mine! To ME! I am going to be really, really hyper for quite a while now! LOL! Tom Hiddleston is my favorite actor, and my number 2 celebrity crush (number 1 being Josh Groban, whose autograph I already have). So, I am just over the moon!!!

So dude, it just dawned on me...He put an x at the end of what he wrote on the picture. I was confuzzled about it earlier, but is that x as in, "xo"? X, as in, hugs? Did Tom Hiddleston mail me a hug? Dude..........*Eeeeeeee*

What a wonderful success! I just wrote to him a month ago requesting an autograph on my photos.. this success gives me hope.. and then I read that they no longer accept IRC's... which is what I sent... bummer... looks like I may never hear back. I'm super happy for your success though! Wonderful!

Whoa! Last night that picture was just a link, now it's HUGE, right in the message, and is making the whole thread scroll. Whoops!

ifonlyfortonight, You could try writing again if you don't hear back, with UK postage this time. Like I said, you can get some through The Royal Mail website. It was fairly complicated setting up an account out of the country, and then finding stamps that I could actually buy, and have SENT out of the country, but I did finally figure it out, and got my stamps. I put six of them on my envelope.

I can scan my envelope, or take a picture of it later, definitely!

I just discovered that "x" in "xo" is kisses, not hugs. Even better! LOL! He is definitely AWESOME!

I had problems finding UK stamps in my country too, so when I sent my letter (end of October 2012) I put 5 IRCs inside the envelope.

However, the Royal Mail website doesn't state that IRCs are no longer accepted, it just says they're not sold anymore in the UK! I had also posted a question here at the time and I was told they are still accepted. I don't know why the Hamilton Hodell website states they can't be used anymore... I found this after a quick search:

"International Reply Coupons have not been withdrawn globally from sale. Under UPU regulations Royal Mail through Post Office Counters is obliged to redeem International Reply Coupons presented having been purchased overseas, but we are not obliged to sell them. However, I can confirm that customers have up to December 2013 to redeem IRCs."

So Royal Mail is obliged to redeem any IRC coming from abroad until December 2013. There's still hope for those who sent coupons instead of stamps!

I think it's more of a Hamilton Hodell (the agency Hiddles goes through) policy sort of thing. Here's a link to their site, where it gives the info about what to do, and what not to do. It does say they can't guarantee a reply, but it doesn't say that a reply DEFINITELY will not be sent out. So, there is still a chance for people who have been sending IRCs. And hey, if not, then just try again with UK postage.

And lastly, a link to stamps on the Royal Mail website. The exact stamps that I got are apparently no longer available (I got some special Olympic stamps...seemed rather appropriate, as he was filled with glee over the olympics, and posting about it). But, these books of stamps are probably the simplest way to do things. I honestly do NOT remember the issue I had with the first batch I tried to buy, but something happened where I couldn't get them. But hopefully, whoever, will be able to figure it out.
