Re: Doris Day success
I remember when I first started collecting and even I knew then that Travolta, Pacino and Sarah Jessica Parker used secretaries. In my local newspaper, they had those three signed photos which were the usual secretaries. They were for a charity auction and the autographs weren't personalized. The secretary was sure to have read the letter requesting an autograph charity, therefore they weren't personalized.
I'd like to think Doris Day wouldn't that for her own foundation but fakes have been knowingly sold before by other places. The Charlton Heston signed books for NRA were stamped or autopen yet the NRA sales site cited them as "signed."
As for the in-person story. It all seemed to be one of those "if it's too good to be true..." stories. Like I said, it's really too bad the autograph discussion was brought up because the photo op is something special in itself. With that being said, as long as there's celebrities, there will always be people to make up stories about their autographs knowing it would get people's attention.

When all is said and done.. no one is going to agree on this, so maybe it's time to let this thread die.

Hi there. I think your missing the point too an epic proportion here because If people want too carry on the discussion on this thread and want too agree or disagree then it's not really up too you too tell them too stop and let the thread die is it? If your sick of the discussion and want the thread too die then just let it. and just don't click on the topic again.stillluckyas13canbe wrote:When all is said and done.. no one is going to agree on this, so maybe it's time to let this thread die.

Uh..No. If they were hiding something i wouldn't expect them to reply at all. They weren't in front of me..Not that hard to press "delete". With many emails people just ignore it when they don't want to answer something. If you email Travolta's website you will receive no response but you know the emails are read because you can get the usual sec autograph through emailing June Travolta. She just ignores the email every time someone mentions about the TTM debate though she won't answer it because she doesn't want to deal with it.MJS73 wrote:And you expected to receive something like this:?
"Dear ____"
Doris Day considers fan mail a burden and hasn't actually seen a piece of it in years but she employs a staff to fake her autograph to give her fans the impression that she cares. Let's keep this our little secret so we can continue this charade in perpetuity.
Hope this answers your question.
Every time something new is brought up in her case, the usual people say "She's lying" "Their lying "The story fake" Well I don't see anyone else trying to contribute information backing up their opinion. At least i'm trying to do research on my own and trying to share something.
I don't think you can really compare the two. I would assume everyone would agree it's hell of a lot more likely she's replying than travolta.

I love how everyone resorts to this site for authenticity:

Can we not see that it says right in the header:
OPINION
This site is based on someone's opinion...... NOT actual proof!

Re: Doris Day success
I love EVERY time someone says how they feel, someone says "Troll" like it's a crime to state an opinion LOL!
Britney Spears==>> 6 #1 albums. 2 diamond albums. 8 platinum albums. 400+ awards. 200M+ records sold. Britney has sold over 45 million records this decade despite only releasing three albums. Globally, Britney has more #1 singles than any other female artist except Madonna and Rihanna. "Oops!...I Did It Again" by Britney is the 5th best selling album of the 2000s decade worldwide. Britney is the only female artist to chart her first seven albums in the top two of the Billboard 200. Britney has achieved at least one #1 album in 3 different decades (90's, 00's, 10's). Britney is the first solo female artist from the 90's to reach 1 billion Spotify streams. Despite NOT even being a single, 'Tom's Diner', ft. Britney , has become Giorgio Moroders best-selling digital track. 2015 Billboard Awards ratings reached a 14-year high, with numbers peaking during Britney's performance. She IS the princess of Pop.
