Re: Doris Day Success!
Look at how Doris signs her name in this video (8:20) for TCM...the same signature on the photos people receive that so many think are secretary because the D's have changed. I read comments on this website where people say she's lost her mind, she's a recluse, she hates her fans, she hates Hollywood, she goes by her birth name--you hear all kinds of rumors with nothing to back them up.

Re: Doris Day Success!
After looking back at a lot of the Doris Day successes on here I believe they are real. It's just the same poster names on this site are saying they are fakes over and over on nearly every Doris Day topic is what's making people think otherwise.

Did someone seriously reference the National Enquirer as a reference?Normanbotts wrote:Well I don't know! Yes you can send a photo. I sent 2 photos too the Carmel address and they were signed by her sec back too me
I wish you luck but I'm pretty sure she doesn't sign and I read recently that she has dementia and she is know as her real name now and doesn't respond too doris day anymore.

Not to mention now, if you send multiple things, she sends back a typed note that says because of the volume of request, she can only do one. Also, her animal foundation literature has had the signature updated.

Re: Doris Day Success!
By the way, she is 90 years old - that's not the handwriting of a 90 years old person on the photo .
That's my opinion.
In the 1990 the she has send out pre prints.

Re: Doris Day Success!
Maureen O'Hara was still signing gorgeous at 90. It is only through the past two years that her handwriting has gone from big and bold to tiny and sometimes a bit messy. I have also known 90 year olds with perfect handwriting. You can't lump EVERY 90 year old in to the same category. Unless they have health issues, they can still sign just as well as in their youth/middle age/senior.
