just so you know, Jimmie is sending everything back RTS now. their stamping the envelopes RTS, not accepting autograph request at this timeranbowski wrote:I beleive that we the fans are owed something. We pay to watch there sport and in return without they would not be in those million dollar homes and living a relaxing life when they retire from the sport.
If I asked them to talk to me on the phone, if I asked them to supply there own material to sign, even if I asked them to pay for postage it would be a different story.
If you are THIS busy then simply take a stack of 8x10 or 4x6's sit down and sign a whole stack of them. People send in asking for an autograph and they supply a sase then send them this.
I don't care if it took ten years to get an autograph back. Jimmie Johnson is the hottest driver out there right now with five back to back championships and if he can autograph something in less than a month there is no reason the other two can't. It is all about priorities.
None of the drivers have to reply back at all, and I don't have to support them either. I use to be a Dale Jr. fan but after getting a rejection letter I choose to spend my money on a driver who does have time to answer fan mail. Out of the drivers I have asked for an Auto back from who are still racing today I have received Mark Martin, Kyle Busch, Jimmie Johnson, & Ryan Newman. Needless to say those will be the only ones I will cheer for or buy merchandise from this day forward.
Like I said though this is just an opinion. I'd rather support a driver who has time for their fans. Even the ones who can't get down to the pits to meet them face to face.

Re: Jeff Gordon Rejection Letter
I have like 5 gordon autographs, I got them through the mail, I was in his fan club. But this was a good 15- 17 years ago. I have a christmas ornament, card, picture, model kit, and a couple other things. I got them fast. The problem is he is so backed up like everyone said. Maybe seeing how he isn't winning every week he is actually concentrating on that? Wow, imagine that, a guy concentrating on their job. Besides, he has kids now, If I had young kids and was in his position where he is on the road 3/4 of the year traveling I would have a hard time keeping up with millions of autograph requests too. You kind of have to look at it that way. Jr isn't and never will be in the same league as Jeff Gordon. IMO Jr is popular because of endorsements and his father. Gordon is arguably one of the top 5 drivers all time and NASCAR although not as popular as it was a few years ago is still very popular. Look at the guy with the most wins and championships, Richard Petty. He has been retired forever and isn't going to the track every week and still has to limit the amt of autographs he signs for every person. Besides, at least if someone is at the track wanting an autograph most of the time they have some sort of merch on so he can tell they are a true fan, not just somebody looking for a free autograph ttm that they can turn around and sell on ebay. I'm sure you are a real fan but you should see it from that perspective too, there's only so much one man can keep up with.

I got Gordon in the mail about 7 or 8 years ago when he was signing all the time like jimmy was up until recently. I was watching an interview with Dale sister Kelly who said Dale was getting upwards of 700-800,000 pieces of mail each year for request so they had to limit and cut off request because there was no way he would be able to keep that up.
Re: Jeff Gordon Rejection Letter
Gordon hasn't been signing TTM for years and years. Best thing to do if you want one of Gordon's autos is to buy it on eBay or get him IP. You can usually find a good 8x10 for less than $10 signed by him. If you need any help finding one I'd be more than happy to help you.

You must have either heard wrong, or added to many 0's. There's no way he recieved nearly that many. JK Rowling, who is far more famous, successful, and beloved then any nascar driver only recieves about 75,000 letters a year.bigdinca wrote:I got Gordon in the mail about 7 or 8 years ago when he was signing all the time like jimmy was up until recently. I don't like Harry Putter or Nascar but I think nascar is the most popular sport in the U.S. I don't know why but I think it is. I would not assume a writer (who kids probably do not care about.......just the movie) is more popular than a NASCAR icon.Blackhawks026 wrote:You must have either heard wrong, or added to many 0's.
