You should sell the angry letter (hand-written, I'm guessing) on eBay and send him a thank you card with the receipt of how much it sold for. ;)

I get that people might not want to be written to at home, but if you're gonna be pissed at all about it, either throw them out or arrange to have them RTS'd (like Joe Montana, for example). I'm guessing he doesn't know his address is featured in a forum-type website. A few non-replies or RTS' and this "time-wasting" problem would go away.

What you did wrong, is you sent 8 things to be signed. Whether it's for your brother or not, that is way to many things to send. It probably would have been to many if you only sent the four. He was obviously suspicious that you were going to sell them, and I don't blame him. Although there was no need for the angry letter, he could have just signed the two and sent the others back unsigned and just left it. I dread to think what he would have wrote if you hadn't included an SASE.

The letter is pretty rude, but I kind of understand him. What you did wrong was that you sent too many things for him to sign. Why can't it be one for you and one for your brother? And I think he is right in the way of so call fans who don't even know what to write about him, but just try to get free autographs. Some end up on sale somewhere. I'm not saying that you sell autographs, but think about yourself. If you signed autographs for "FANS" and saw 3/4 of them on eBay, would you still wanna sign? I don't think so.

I so totally want to write him a letter, inresponse to all of the snotty letters that have been posted here. Put him down a notch or two. Because he is absolutely ridiculus. I am surprised no one has responded to his nasty letters. I am not even a fan of him, nor do I want anything signed by him. I'd just like to knock him into reality. I think I just might! =) It'll only cost 98 cents to tell him off. Not bad!

The reason I sent 3 pictures is because me and my brother planned to send to Fiona + Harry as well. So we sent 3 pictures :
Picture 1 : Vernon
Picture 2 : Vernon + Dudley
Picture 3 : Vernon + Petunia

I now realise this sounds spoilt but I have seen people before get 7/8 from
him of different shots with no complaints so I assumed it would be okay. I'm sorry Guys If I've upset you.

I don't think it matters if you sent 2 photos or 8 photos. Richard is a dink no matter what. And if it's really that big of a deal, all he had to do was sign the photos he wanted to and send the rest back unsigned, like other celebrities do. He didn't need to send that note to you. If anything, he's making the last of his fans hate him because of how awful he treats them. He's defnitely no one special, that's for sure.

You don't see Tim Allen, Dakota Fanning or Robert Englund sending a nasty note along with their signed photos. They usually only sign one of the photos you send and send the others back unsigned.

Lol!!!! This is a BRILLIANT reply!!!! I would treasure this and see it as something really unique. Very rarely do celebs send letters back.
I used the address on fanmail.biz when I wrote to him and I got it back in a week. He personalised a pic for me and filled in a questionnaire I sent. When I asked him 'What advice would you give to people wanting to act?' he wrote "99% of people who go into acting FAIL. Do as you like - don't blame me!"

Rather than being offended, it just made me chuckle! That's just Richard!!!

What a douchebag. I have no idea who this guy is, but I kind of want to write him a letter telling him off. I won't of course b/c that would just make him feel like he was right, but why can't he just do what everyone else who doesn't sign does and NOT SIGN? Or sign one picture and ignore the rest if that's his problem. I'm sure it sucks to have mail sent to your home address, but to insult all HP fans and autograph collectors like that just makes him look like a jerk.
