Anyone on here who knows me knows how I feel about pricelists. I don't say anything about it because of the sport nuts on here who are willing to pay for autographs tend to get a little over emotional about what I have to say.

I hear you man! If we take the time to send a letter, pay for postage and return postage, and even spend the money on a pic or ball or something for them to sign, there's really no excuse not to sign (assuming you're not sending in 10 things making it look like you're going to sell the stuff). You're supporting them and their career, it's the least they can do. The only time really that I can understand charging for an autograph is in person at some signing event.

Price list?! :lol:

Um if I was you I would seriously not bother following someones career if they get your letter, see your support and return a price list :roll:

I mean if they're too busy to sign thats understandable, if they don't want to sign thats understandable, if they want to send pre prints because they get so many requests again, I understand. For what is literally a pen sqiggle on a photo in return for spending time supporting them a demand for money is literally hilarious.

If I were you I would send them another letter saying they need to get a reality check if they want to keep their fans.

Spend time thinking about people who appreciate your support, ;-)

Also you would have to be pretty heartless to do that. I would never do that if I were famous, if I didn't want to I just wouldn't sign.

Good luck with your requests anyway {up}

His fee actually goes to his charity which does a lot of good things.

Collectors will always have opinions on paying for autographs, I'm not a big fan. But I have for a few that I really wanted.

It has been commonly known and posted multiple times that Bart Starr asks for a donation to his favorite charity before signing, so even the least amount of research should have prepared you. If you are old enough to remember him as a player and to want his autograph, then you know what a class act he has always been. He donated the Corvette he won as Super Bowl MVP to help found Rawhide Boys Ranch and has chosen to give all autograph proceeds to help fund their programs for troubled youth.

You can complain about paying for autographs, but don't complain about Bart Starr, it just makes you sound like a selfish whiner.

That was well said Mhammen. Some people just don't care what the money goes for, they still want/except something for free. Yeah, people pay for ticktes, merch, etc.. but who was on the field getting their skulls cracked, bones busted, etc for our entertainment? Kurt Warner charges alot of money at autograph shows.. does that make him a bad man? No, because he has brought so much to this league, and he helps many groups because he wants to... Just cant stand people that think they are owed something by the athletes. We are owed nothing from them.

:roll: I'm not saying I expect anything from anyone, if you see my comment I said "if they don't want to sign then thats understandable" I just don't like it when people think their autographs are so good they can charge their fans {down}

Obviously autograph shows are different, but when we're talking about TTM, I (personally) would rather have no reply or a rejection letter than a price list.

And I don't have a clue who "Bart Star" is, he might be a great person I don't know, my opinion is just on the reply this person got. And just to go back on your comment "owed nothing from them", fans pay to go see them, they buy merch, they actively when possible give their support. I think its fair that for free (including a SASE) they deserve a PP or rejection letter :lol:

Clash.... Did I mention your name at all in my comments? What makes you think I am talking just about you? If I was going to call someone out, I would have mentioned them.. I left it general.

As for Bart Starr... he is one of the greatest QB's in the history of the nfl, and is a member of the pro football hall of fame.

As for the "deserving" part.... you mean to tell me you would really be happy with a PP from someone? Thats more of a slap in the face than a rejection letter. That means you would rather have an autopen from someone as well? Besides, we both know that if a player send a rejection letter, then people are gonna be a pi$$y because they didn't sign for them. I still don't blame them for charging, especially when people get something and then go and sell it on ebay, just to make money off their name. True fans get the bad end of the deal by either not getting something signed or being forced to pay to get it, but thats the way it is and sadly its not gonna change for the better.
