Re: Doris Day success
Some people are far too trusting of autographed items authenticated by 3rd parties such as PSA and JSA.
Granted, yes, they are the industry standards. And yes, the majority of the items they authenticate are real.
But you still need to do your homework before making an uninformed purchase simply because an autographed item has a PSA or JSA sticker on it. Especially if it is of a rare or high valued autograph.
There are so many loop holes with their authentication process that more fakes get passed through the system than you realize.
And most of the employees that authenticate for these companies are no more experts than any collector who has been a part of this hobby for a long time.
You would be surprised how often PSA or JSA will call collectors/experts who don't work for them asking for their opinions/help authenticating items.

I did a quick google image search of "secretarial autograph" and saw a few certified secretarials by PSA or JSA of Jackie Gleason, Charlton Heston and Tony Curtis.CHIgrapher wrote:Some people are far too trusting of autographed items authenticated by 3rd parties such as PSA and JSA.

Re: Doris Day success
i would say psa/dna authenticates about 80-85% of sports signatures correctly. but it drops severely for celebs, probably 60-65% correctly

Actually someone bumped in to her in Carmel, got a picture with her and an autograph...also asked her about through the mail, and she said she signs all of her stuff through the mail...sometimes it just takes her a little longer...and he threw her autograph he got, along with the picture with her, and they look the same as the ones through the mail. Don't listen to anyone who says they are sec...because they probably heard it from someone, who heard it from someone, who heard it from somewhere, who made it up. I'm sure there are many that use secretaries to sign things, but my thought is keep everything and let someone else decide if they're real or not later on. Unless you get to meet the person and ask (like the gentleman did with Ms. day), you don't know anyway. Just because you didn't see them sign it, doesn't mean they didn't. I'd rather keep it and show it was a fake later, then throw it out thinking its fake and shown it was real.

Britney Spears==>> 6 #1 albums. 2 diamond albums. 8 platinum albums. 400+ awards. 200M+ records sold. Britney has sold over 45 million records this decade despite only releasing three albums. Globally, Britney has more #1 singles than any other female artist except Madonna and Rihanna. "Oops!...I Did It Again" by Britney is the 5th best selling album of the 2000s decade worldwide. Britney is the only female artist to chart her first seven albums in the top two of the Billboard 200. Britney has achieved at least one #1 album in 3 different decades (90's, 00's, 10's). Britney is the first solo female artist from the 90's to reach 1 billion Spotify streams. Despite NOT even being a single, 'Tom's Diner', ft. Britney , has become Giorgio Moroders best-selling digital track. 2015 Billboard Awards ratings reached a 14-year high, with numbers peaking during Britney's performance. She IS the princess of Pop.
