Yet people will still not listen and continue to waste their time trying.

I sent my request when she was still signing. It takes a bit longer to receive a request from Europe, and then to receive it back. Obviously I wouldn't send it now.

So what if a few if the people who write to her for an autograph are dirt dealers- I'd say that would only make up a small percentage of the guys who write to her. In a country that is as impoverished as America, can one honestly blame people if they chose to sell her autograph? Eventually though that autograph will find it's way to someone who loves and cherishes it.
Kim has achieved what only 1 percent of Americans have and that is 'the American dream': to get paid millions for doing something one enjoys doing.' The least she can do for her fans what cd bought her crap and big'd her upto the A-LIST celebrity status she is at is to squiggle her name on a few pieces of card.

davey2017 complain to the ebayers/dealers that have done this to her. It's not her fault she feels this way. How would you feel if people "used" you to make money off of you? I commend and respect Ms Basinger for her wishes.

@tardis2006johnb well, at the same time you punish your real fans (who are a majority of autograph requests that you receive, and who contributed to your high living standard). Some actors sign a lot and among other things, it lowers market prices of their autographs (in fact it is cheaper to send an autograph request, than to buy a signed photo where someone removed a personalisation). In any case, it is each celebrity's personal philosophy and we cannot do much about that.

Michal1986, if you are a real fan as you say then why then write to her now then years back in her heyday? Anyway, she is just a person who does have feelings. And if you are a fan then just respect her.

I got the same thing a couple weeks ago. It's a shame anyone who writes her (true fans) won't get her autograph. I absolutely love when I receive personalized autographs. It means more to me than just their signature. A lot more celebrities are heading down this path. Pretty soon everyone will only be able to get their autographs at a convention or signing session.

AND pay an arm and a leg for the autograph!
