In March '11, I wrote "Harry Potter" author JK Rowling, sending a photo for her to autograph, including funds for return postage and SSAE. On May 10, I received a reply from her personal assistant, who explained that, quite frankly, Rowling didn't waste time answering requests like mine, as her commitments and family were her only priority. I used the address from the database, and my reply came from the same address. I received both my photo and postage money back.

Wow...I understand somewhat, but that doesn't make her seem like someone who cares about her fans, does it? She should at least say sorry, but she's too busy to send things like a lot of people do...

Do you think you could tell us what the letter said?
Normally she just saids "Rowling is too busy at the moment to answer requests as she has family priorities and she thanks you anyway" type of thing.

Um this woman is richer than the Queen of England, I find it hard to believe she doesn't care about her fans. Did you watch the London premiere of harry potter? She was crying and she couldn't have been more grateful for everyone. (Youtube it.) I think she doesn't have time to sit down and answer requests because she probably has thousands of letters from her fans around the world.

don't let it get to you, it's not that she doesn't care, it's that she gets hundreds of letters every day, if she signed every single one she'd never leave her desk! Just keep trying, I had to try four times before I had a success!! just be creative with your letter, make it clear that you've put a lot of thought into it.

Considering that JK Rowling would be a worthless no talent druggie that was still unemployed and out on the street if it wasn't for her fans that bought her books and made her all that money. She sure has a big ego not willing to give back to her fans like that. Reminds me a lot of Tiger Woods and his insulting treatment of his fans.

Worthless no talent druggie? Do you even know who JK Rowling is?That's very inappropriate, you should keep that to yourself.
She cant answer hundreds of letters a day. Simple as that. Why is that so hard to understand?
