Received a very nice success from former Dallas, TX Homicide Detective James R. Leavelle today!! He was the officer, who was handcuffed to convicted murderer Lee Harvey Oswald when Jack Ruby fired the shots that killed Lee Harvey on November, 24th 1963.

James graciously personalized and signed my three photos, two being the famous photos that were taken at the exact moment Jack shot Lee Harvey, and also personalized and signed my custom 4x6 cards. He filled out my Q&A card with some pretty simple answers 5/6 being answered simply “NO”.

Congrats Ryan. I've been wondering why I hadn't gotten anything back from him myself, but then I realized that I never even sent out my request! Now I'm feeling pretty foolish lol.

You should have ask why/what questions instead of yes/no questions.

It might be simply because he is quite old now or memory issues that he did not answer, but in response to your 'last words' question I have heard him talk about that in a couple of interviews on TV programs regarding the assassination.

Apparently right before they walked out into the crowd he commented to Oswald "If someone tries to kill you I hope they are a good shot." Oswald responded, "Oh, you are being melodramatic."

Seems like he would have answered that for you, but again maybe his memory has faded or he simply didn't feel like writing it all out.

Thanks for the comment!! I too heard about that quote he said to Oswald, but your theory might be right, his memory could be fading or perhaps he did say something else to him before he was shot.
