Richard Griffiths failure...

Sent a picture, LOR, SAE and 1 IRC to him on August 19th. Got this back today together with my picture (unsigned) and my IRC in my SAE. Used the address in the database. I live in Sweden so I really don't know how to obtain British stamps...did what I could.
And I don't quite understand why he's being so rude. He used his own stamps on my SAE, couldn't he just have signed my photo as well?

Wow, that's one of the rudest responses I've ever seen! Looks like Uncle Vernon is really a jerk in real life too!

I suppose he sent it back to make a statement. It must get very tiring to drive so far to just mail something back out like that.
Sorry for the failure though.

This is soooo much better than an actual autograph. It tells so much more about Mr. Griffiths than any signature. If i were you i would send another letter thanking him for this rude responce. That would make him furious. What an a**.

I understand where he's coming from, but it can't be that much of a bother for him to send you an autograph if he used his own stamps to send a rude response.

This is BRILLIANT!!!!!!! This is so much better than an autograph!! It is so different to what other people have received. Are you sure he isn't trying to be slightly funny by sending it too? Who knows? But this is DEFINITELY personalised!!!

I can totally NOT understand this rude reaction. It's the whole point of IRCs to be used by people who can't obtain foreign stamps at their post office - I don't know how it is in Sweden, but in Germany there's no way to get british (or any other foreign) stamps at the post office - they don't even sell IRCs here in the offices, one has to buy them online. I coud (maybe!) understand a reaction like this if someone doesn't send anything to cover the postage, but you did...
It is absolutely impolite... if I would have planned to send him a request, then I wouldn't do that anymore!
I'd only consider sending him a letter and include an IRC purposely - even if I had british stamps - and mention all that just to make him (haha! his agent, more likely) run to the post office.
Such a rude person.
No, will definitely not send any request to him!

Well, this is a first! Never seen a response like that before.
Surely he could just save all the "problematic" fan mail for the day he's going to town anyway. I doubt his fans would mind waiting for a couple of weeks. There was no way for you of knowing he lives that far away from the post office!
Glad I already have him. I'd be a bit scared to write to him after this...
