JK ROWLING SUCCESS!!

OMG!
I received a JK Rowling autograph in the mail on Saturday!!!! I sent it to the Edinburgh address in the database. It's my 4th attempt and I was super creative! I made an envelope out of bright yellow card and wrote all calligraphy style on the front. I wrote on plain paper but folded it and stuck it on the inside of a bright red piece of paper with "Thank you JK Rowling" on the outside and the Hogwarts crest drawn on the inside. I also sent her a drawing that I did of Harry and a replica of the Marauder's Map that I made (origami style). I stuffed the envelope full of red and yellow glitter and stuff. I sent it on April 12th and just got a reply this past saturday (can't remember the date, I think the 27th?). I didnt send an SASE as the 3 previous times I did and my rejection letter was sent in a different envelope.
In my letter I wrote about how much I loved the series, how it had helped to shape me as a person, how I looked up to Harry, Ron and Hermione's friendship, my favourite characters, my favourite book, how Im desperate to go to the wizarding world etc.
My tips would definitely be to make your whole package (envelope, letter, etc) as attractive as possible - I've sent 3 normal letters before and got a rejection. Also, be patient, it took my autograph FOUR MONTHS to arrive. I thought it had gotten lost in the post!! Also, the letter says to please not send books to be autographed as she can't sign them, she cannot answer individual questions or comment on specific topics, send out signed photographs or autographs (I think she means individual) or look at/read/comment on writing/stories/ideas/artwork sent to her. Of course I think it is best to send any artwork or anything as it will stand out more - but don't send anything you would not want to not get back.
I got 2 letters, one is a form response from JK Rowling. it says how she appreciates the trouble that HP fans take to contact her, about the DH2 film and premiere, about pottermore and new books. The other is an information sheet which has a load of JK Rowling information written by herself - a mini autobiography. It also has a little FAQ on the back, with answers to questions such as Which character is your favourite, where do you get your ideas, where do you get names, will here ever be another harry potter novel, what about the encyclopaedia, what are you writing now, what advice would you give to young writers, what was your favourite childhood book. There was also a Philosopher's Stone book cover photo SIGNED! The envelope has a Deathly Hallows book cover stamp - that's how I knew what it was!
