I was a big fan of Mystery Science Theatre 3000 when it first began running on Comedy central in the early 90's. Joel was one of the creators and stars and left the show after episode 100. I'll leave it up to you whether or not the quality of the show declined after he left, but i think it did. His newest endeavor is called Cinematic Titanic. Check out the website, it looks really cool. Anyway, on 10-24-11 i sent to the Cinematic Titanic address a LOR, SASE, and 3 index cards, and today (11-12-11) i received in my SASE the 3 index cards signed. The address is : Cinematic Titanic P. For so long I've looked for an address for him. Congrats. MST3K was, and still is, my favorite show. I own all of the box sets. I think I like Joel slightly more than Mike, but I still thoroughly enjoyed it no matter who hosted.

If you ever get a chance to, go see CINEMATIC TITANIC. It is fantastic. Not only did I enjoy the show, but it turned into my most amazing 'graphing story. My wife, also a fan, and I went to see them at Princeton University. After each show the entire cast does a 'meet and greet.' While I was towards the front of the line, they claim that they will stay and meet every person and sign anything put in their face.

So, I made a poster. It is more of a mini-poster (12x18"). It has become the prize of my autograph collection...signed by the entire original cast along with Frank and Mary Jo (aka Pearl). However, what made it awesome was that by the 3rd person to see the poster (Trace Belieau aka Crow), he realized I made the thing and liked it. Then Mary loved it! And she and Joel (last to sign) gawked at it, completely blown away. That's when I got real sappy and told them what the show truly meant to me...I made Mary cry a little.

Joel looks at me and asks, "Would you mind if I had a copy of this?" I'm like, "Whaaaaat? Really? Of course you can have one!"

The rest is history. He gave me his personal email and about a week or so later I wrote him a nice letter and attached the full sized file of the image I made. He promptly wrote back giving me his THANKS! and told me he was going to have it framed ASAP so he can hang it in his office.

After all of that, as my wife and I were leaving, my wife turned to me and said:

"You forgot to take a photo with him."

DOH!

So, that just gave me an excuse to take her, and my friends, back to see them this December! I already have another poster ready to go....

Wow, what an experience! You do sound like a true fan and i'm very happy that you had such a great encounter. You would probably know this......dont the other people involved with MST3K have some entertainment company??
