I tried 3 times each time sending a check $10, $20 then $30 and it was just sent back. A SAD HOFer

More like sad ttmer....Kaline signs for cash. Sending a check was asking for failure. Do your homework before you throw your hands up and curse the 80yr+ old HOFer.

I wouldn't call this a "huge failure" so much as a huge lack of research. Al Kaline is well known to send back checks, and only signs for cash. Why? I don't know, but that's what he does. Try sending cash, I'm not sure how much he charges (if he even actually has a set price for autographs) but he will sign for cash

Just sent him a nice note, $10 cash, and an 8x10. Got it back in 10 days perfectly signed. He's doing a private signing in Detroit if anyone's interested. Items need to be ordered by Sat.

I agree with the other "threaders" on this one. Cash only because checks bounce...that's been his practice for several years now. Good luck...
