More like sad ttmer....Kaline signs for cash. Sending a check was asking for failure. Do your homework before you throw your hands up and curse the 80yr+ old HOFer.

I wouldn't call this a "huge failure" so much as a huge lack of research. Al Kaline is well known to send back checks, and only signs for cash. Why? I don't know, but that's what he does. Try sending cash, I'm not sure how much he charges (if he even actually has a set price for autographs) but he will sign for cash

Just sent him a nice note, $10 cash, and an 8x10. Got it back in 10 days perfectly signed. He's doing a private signing in Detroit if anyone's interested. Items need to be ordered by Sat. www.detroitcitysports.com. Good luck!!

I agree with the other "threaders" on this one. Cash only because checks bounce...that's been his practice for several years now. Good luck...

and checks they have to claim on tax day cash is cash....
