Doc Rivers (Boston Celtics Head Coach) failure

On 12/15/11, I sent a card, letter and SASE to Doc Rivers, head coach of the Boston Celtics. I sent it to the Celtics' address in the database. On 12/30/11, it came back with a note on my letter saying the Celtics players and coaches do not sign anything sent through the mail. Just wondering if anyone has an address that works for Doc Rivers.

That is both strange and ridiculous. First of all after the NBA just crapped on their fans and took part of the season off arguing about billions of dollars while the economy is in the tank, you would think they might put an effort into signing more this year.

Secondly, Danny Ainge just signed for me from the Celtics stadium address, and Doc Rivers has always been a good signer from the team address. I would try again if I were you. I am not sure how you send your mail, but I would make the envelope look professional/printed from a computer if you can. That way it might not instantly get tossed aside as fan mail and it gets to his desk.

jrc26 - I agree that this sounds ridiculous. I would think the NBA would be doing all they can to get fans back on their side. The envelope I used was handwritten, so maybe I will try making it look more professional. I was going to try for Danny Ainge and may go ahead and do that with your suggestion. Thanks.

Ottawaman, I have found that it always helps to research before sending out a card or photo to see if anyone has had a recent success. I've only been doing this for a few years, but I'm pretty sure of who will sign because I try to research and read about that person. There are specific players who I am willing to risk losing the card to get their autograph because I don't know if they sign of not. Just a quick suggestion as you have fun with this hobby.
