He charges anywhere from 100-150 at shows to sign a ball or anything along those lines..more for bigger items. And he has his own team or people that set everything up, even independent of the show. So, I would say getting him through the mail is gonna be a really tough try.

Since you sent 3 cards to be signed his assistant probably thought you were either being greedy or were a dealer wanting to sell a couple of them on the side. Cal Ripken Jr will and has signed from that address but only if it looks like legitimate fan mail. Yours didn't make it through their check.

Doubt that he charges that price or else his average PSA/DNA signed ball on Ebay wouldn't go at auction for only $60. People would be losing a lot of money. Cal Ripken Jr. is one of the best signers in the sport.

The guy is a complete jerk like Bobby Orr selling his autograph for a fortune.

He charges that much and even more!
Pay attention to the sports conventions that pop up now and then.
Here are his prices for the 2012 Sports National Convention....

Premium Item - Flat item larger than 11x14 $179
Cap/Equipment - Cap or equipment (other than Full Size items) $189

You say HE is a jerk for charging? So, was "The Mick & Joe D" jerks for charging? Is Ali a jerk for charging? How about Willie or Hank? Jordan or Woods????? Are these sports legends jerks because they charge? Or how about all of the other THOUSANDS who charge for autographs... Someone is gonna make money off of it, either them or a greedy fan who is looking to make a quick buck off their name, so why shouldn't they be the one to make the money off of it. They are the ones who put in the years and years of time and practice that pushed them to the level that they made it tio.
I'm willing to bet that if you were as amazing as the names I listed, you would be charging double their prices for autographs. Please just keep your mouth shut. Its people like you that give this hobby a bad rap. As for calling someone a jerk because they charge at shows or because they wont sign thousands of autographs for free TTM each week, maybe you need to look in the mirror before you start the name calling. Ripken is one of the true greats of the game, and is the same to his fans!!!!!!!

I would agree. I've met him several times IP, whether at conventions or at games.
He is a very nice guy.
I find it funny when people will call an athlete or celeb a jerk b/c they won't sign autographs for free.
