I have a coffee table photo book called HOLLYWOOD CATS which features beautiful B&W pictures of celebrities from the Golden Age of Hollywood, each of whom are holding cats. Among them is a delightful picture of the stunning Lauren Bacall. Thanks to the address provided by FanMail.biz, I was able to send Ms. Bacall this book with a request for her autograph. WITHIN A WEEK it was returned in the SASE that I provided. At first I was very nervous because, when I sent the book to her I had placed my letter like a bookmark in the page where her photo occured, and when I took the book out of the SASE my own letter was still in the page. I feared that it was being returned unsigned (my fear wasn't that she may have refused to sign it, but, since I know she is acustomed to signing for her fans, I was afraid something may have happened to her health or something that would have prevented it). But much to my great joy, when I opened the book to her photo, there was her signed message:
BEST ALWAYS
LAUREN BACALL

I was particularly happy that she signed on the opposing page, rather than across her image.

There are only a few celebrities in this book that are still living:
young Drew Barrymore with her cat from CAT'S EYE
Signourney Weaver with the cat from ALIEN
Hayley Mills with the cat from THAT DARN CAT
Ann-Margret with a kitten from KITTEN WITH A WHIP
Joan Collins with a kitten from ISLAND IN THE SUN

It is my hope that each of them will sign and return this book so that I can auction it for an animal charity.
Any recommendation for whom I should try next?

I believe Joan Collins is due to do a stage run in London very soon.

I love Lauren Bacall! I sent my second request to her in early December but didn't hear back until mid January. She is usually fast with autograph request. I thought her health prevented her from signing as well.

Darn. Was hoping to catch her on the set of Fran Drescher's Happily Divorced.
I'm a little nervous about sending this book overseas - especially with Lauren Bacall's signature in it.

What an awesome success! She is absolutely fantastic isn't she? I concur with you, if it was me, I would be way to afraid to mail the book overseas now that Ms. Bacall's autographed it. If you do risk it, I wish you all the best & pray we can all see your success with it soon!

Congrats, mine also took about a week maybe two. I also used the address in database but return address was from Italy I think. I know it was from overseas. I think it was Italy but cant remember for sure.Might have been Austria. Also I agree with loungeact I dont know if I would send elsewhere to get signed.
