Hi. I sent classic actor John Gavin (probably best known for his role in the legendary Alfred Hitchcock film "Psycho"), 2 photos, IC, my LOR, & SASE. Roughly a week later I received back all my items autographed, the IC personalised!!

The inscription is in spanish. I wrote some of my letter in spanish. I compared this sig with others, (not very many), and he seemed to change the way he does his "J" and "G". The rest of his name (the " _ohn" & "_avin" ) seems consistent.

What address did you use?! I have been wanting to get his autograph for a really long time but heard that he chose to "forget about Hollywood days" so he no longer signed. This is an awesome success! Congrats!

Im afraid this is a sec one....im close and good friend of one of his daughters and im quite sure he never signs and has a person who do it for him....

I'm also looking forward to see John Gavin's address. And Atticus Finch... when are we finally going to see some proof of Your successes?

If you claim to know so many older movie stars and be friends with them, what are you doing in some crummy little forum like this one? It wouldn't be a big deal you getting their autograph if you are such good friends with them.

Besides, John Gavin's address isn't so public that he'd be flooded with fanmail, that he'd resort to a "sec" to reply. I know of some addresses of for him that their reply is "John Gavin is too busy to sign." If an assisstant sends such a reply from one address, assuming that John Gavin told the assisstant he doesn't want to be bothered with fanmail, logically John Gavin would tell the same thing to the assisstant at whatever address the Original Poster wrote to.

Another thing, the writing style of the dedication on the IC really looks like older hispanic male writing, and it's in spanish. (John Gavin is an older hispanic male fluent in spanish.) I spend a lot of time around older hispanic males, so I know that most of them have this similar writing style.

I haven't yet seen this film. I'll check it out. I really like him in the film "Midnight Lace", even tho' he didn't get enough camera time.
