I sent a SASE, one 8x10, and a fairly long letter expressing my admiration for her! This was a pretty quick response I was shocked! She's so sweet!
In person you can read what it says where the black is (though I wish she had chosen to start the writing a little higher haha)
Envelope that was almost completely destroyed thanks to this weather!!! (but my photo is intact so I don't really care)

wasn't soda. Just muddy water...it came during a very rainy time period! I am just happy my photo was OK...and I can't believe I got this just last week and yet today she is gone...I wonder if I was the last person to receive an autograph from her?///If my letter was the last one she had read?
It has made me very emotional to know that even if it wasn't the last one...it was one of the last fan letters she ever read.

she was in poor health for months, do you really think she's going to spend her final days going through fan mail? no, the signatures are secretarial and have been for the past 3 years

Totally secretarial. Stop fooling yourselves. Same goes for Doris Day.

A wheelchair bound 91 year old with failing eyesight and rheumatoid arthritis (all of which she had) would not have handwriting that was incredibly smooth and flowing, looking like that of a 30 year old. Stop trying to convince yourselves that she signed for you.
