Kenny Baker ( R2-D2 ) FAILURE !

Sent a very very long LOR - about 3 A4 pages to his home address in the database. After seeing this was a home address and that many people had had successes from him, I thought that I would be lucky and it would be a very good autograph to have. I sent it about a week ago. When I came home, I found an envelope, the postmark said Lancashire so I pretty much new who it was going to be - Kenny Baker ( R2 - D2 )! So I opened the envelope, only to find an unsigned photo card of himself and R2D2? I have seen many of Theese signed but mine came unsigned? Did he forget to sign it? I know his autographs are quite rare on other sites but it just seemed rather strange. There was no note or anything, just a blank photo card ? Guess I will just have to send this off nd hope he will sign it this time? Dissapointing and Unexpected failure! :(

A Kenny Baker autograph is NOT rare by any means.

He signs a ton. And usually charges, but has been signing free recently.

Maybe he is getting tired of the free loaders.... Especially during this time as his health has been deteriorating.

@CHIgrapher, Someone who writes a letter and provides an item/self stamped envelope is not a freeloader. They are putting their time and money into it, and are just requesting a signature in return. If someone chooses to charge and someone wants to pay, fine, but its not freeloading to send TTM the correct way. I dont feel a celeb owes us anything and they have a right to do as they choose, but charging people that are 95%+ of the time lots less well off then you to write on a piece of paper/photo/index card, etc. outside of a convention is bogus. Its not freeloading to not want to pay a celeb who has lots more then you ever will generally upwards of 50+ sometimes for a signature, when you put lots of time into your request and are a genuine fan that has enjoyed/paid for much of their work in the past. Sorry to hear about Bakers health though, I always liked him.

@OP, Sorry for your failure.

i do agree that he does sign a ton, and has been singing things that have been sent to him for free. it could be that he is getting ready for CE2 also. it is going to be the biggest celebration of what i have seen of past ones. i would try it again, cause he will probably sign it. i may try to send to him around august, cause then the fuss of celebration will be over with. good luck. {up}

If you think Kenny Baker is a rich celebrity... You have lost your mind.

Any actors from the OT that are NOT named Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher are far from rich.

And by no means original poster was I including you in that free loader group... Sorry for that. It's the people that send like 4-8 items or more with their TTMs.

According to his website, he no longer signs TTM as he is tired of seeing second-hand sales on sites like Ebay. And yes, his autographs aren't that rare. You can find his autographed photos on Official Pix (they have preorders if you can't attend Star Wars celebrations in person) and even on Warwick Davis' official autograph site, http://www.thesignatureshop.co.uk. Some of his photos are signed by both him and Kenny Baker, and Warwick will personalize them. Worth checking out, not too expensive at all.
