Just catching up on posting some of my TTM autographs from the past 2 weeks and this is one I will hold close as I'm from Iowa and his passing today was a big hit to the college basketball world and to our entire state.
I sent a LOR, 8x10 and a letter to Mr. Orr at his home in Ankeny Iowa in late November and recieved my photo back from him just 13 days ago (December 17th . He included a note thanking me for my kind words, his love for not only ISU basketball but basketball and its fans in general and that he was surprised by my request, as he doesn't receive many of them anymore. He is the reason there is "Hilton Magic" in Ames. I wish I had saved the note that he sent but it was accidently tossed in the trash with some other mail when I was going through it. He passed away early this morning and it has saddened the entire state of Iowa. I was born, raised and am still an Iowa Hawkeye, Black & Gold all the way.. BUT I respect what he did for ISU, it was great watching him on the court with his energy and class. RIP Coach Orr.. You will be missed.
