After getting him last year VV, I decided to write him again and thank him. I wrote two-page letter about I really enjoyed his work pre- and post-Robin Hood, included a copy of a cartoon portrait I had done of his RH character last year, as well as three 8x10 photos. I included two IRCs and 8x11 SAE to pay for return postage.

I sent to the Troika address in the database.

I was shocked at the relatively quick turnaround. punkguy03, I hope you got a reply from him too!

I never got a reply from when I wrote him. Guess I'm not special enough lol. I'd write him again, but having to buy the stamps from the UK and whatnot is rather pricey. At least I got one from Lucy Griffiths.

It never hurts to try again. It's possible yours got lost in the mail or something... rare these days, but it's possible. As for postage, you could send a couple of dollars or use IRCs instead.

It took me two tries before I got him VV the first time, and if you really want him, try again. He seems to be pretty good about fanmail overall.

Thanks for the advice. I was under the impression that you can't get IRC's anymore in the US is that true? Hence why I sent the stamps. It would definitely be easier just to send money lol.

You can buy IRCs on eBay, or send in a few dollars to cover return postage. They did stop selling IRCs here in the U.S. late January 2013, which irritated me. The recent ones are a dollar or more over $2.20 (which the USPS sold them for), but compared to how currency fluctuates, it's better than cash I think. Each IRC guarantees a envelope up to 50 grams to be sent via unregistered airmail, which is faster.
