Sent a LOR, SASE and 2 photo's of Dick Van Dyke to address in database and got a signed photo back instead. I've been hearing a lot about secretarial's from him going around this site so I've decided to add this on the topic. However, I thought forging someone's signature like that was against the law especially on an autograph for fanmail?

Address used:

Dick Van Dyke
23215 Mariposa DeOro St.
Malibu, CA 90265

you can sign someone elses name to something when you have authorization. so i'm sure celebrities "authorize" their assistants

At last we see an intelligent person who actually reads the feedback and realizes what they received is a secretarial.

Secretarials have been around for years, sadly. In the older Hollywood days it was common as were "clubhouse" (bat boy) signatures for baseball.

Secretarials are the larger version of your grandma signing both her and grandfather's name to a holiday/birthday card.

I still don't get why this is consider a success. Basically all you're getting is someone who's just forging somebody else's name. What kind of success is that?

I called DVD's booking agency today and the woman who answered asked why I was calling. I told her that his fans have just about had it with him using someone to forge his signature TTM for all these years and we want it to stop. I wanted the name of the person (maybe his brother) so I could tell them to cease the activity. (As if telling her would amount to anything). She told me that they were just his booking agent and didn't get involved in such matters and therefore couldn't help me. So I quickly said - none the matter - if you talk to or see the person or even DVD himself you tell him were PO'd being deceived like that, especially the people (including myself), who, through the years have purchased bogus material of his not having the knowledge we have now. And you can tell him where he can stick his in person autographed photo for $89.00 too.

I've never seen a response from Jerry Van Dyke (not saying they don't exist though) so I'm sure it's not him doing the signing for Dick. I thought it was his son, Barry, because the autographs I've seen were similar but I guess it's just a paid staff female.

You'll never get a real Dick Van Dyke. The secretarial usage has gone on too long to just start sending real ones now. They have to keep up with appearances.

I sent a letter to Dick Van Dyke on January 23rd. I got a picture exactly like yours on February 23rd 2015, personalized. It took 4 weeks and 3 days to arrive. It says "Hi Doug! God Bless, Dick Van Dyke." :D :D
