So I sent a letter, SASE and photo to Dick Warlock from Halloween 2 on 4/17/2014 and received my photo signed 5/6/2014. Although I got a post it note on the photo saying:

"That's $20.00 please
Lee McMahan
PO Box 6087
Kingsport, TN 37663"

What's the typical etiquette for a situation like this? Or is a request for payment AFTER sending a signature typical?

OK, I'm pretty new at this hobby but I would think if a celebrity wants to be paid, they would send a letter before sending a signed photo and say that they would be happy to sign for a fee. not send you a post it note. I find that very strange. interested in hearing from someone who has been doing this for awhile.

I don't think you have anything to worry about. I've met Dick many times and he's not the kind of guy who will hunt you down over $20, and besides, he sold off most of his prop weapons years ago.

sure you say that until he crashes through the front door wearing his mask............or not.
