I sent a card, a LOR and a SASE to Yogi Berra on October 23, 2014 and on October 29, 2014 I received my card back unsigned along with a handwritten letter explaining that Mr. Berra no longer signs due to his age/health.

I marked this as a success because the address is valid and I received a response.

Just out of curiousity, who wrote the letter? It's hard to tell from the signature. One of Yogi's sons perhaps?

Its hard to tell. Its from someone at the Museum I believe. But I can't figure out the name from the signature.

Berra was very rare for free ttm. He was signing for a fee for many years through his sons' company. It has been suggested by long time collectors that he was in declining health, for about the last year and even the fee autographs stopped ttm. But this isn't a primary sports site so it may not have been known by many members.

I think the signature is a museum rep. Yogi's sons are Larry, Tim and Dale and it's a D name but not Dale's signature that I know of
