Hi there, I guess to interdues myself.

my name is Julie and I live in Coos Bay Oregon.

I am a really really big Elton John fan, thats how I found this forum. I was looking for EJ's address, and wow I found this. it looks like fun!

I must ask when sending a letter to EJ why do I need to send a pick of me???? or am I missing somthing. I have never asked for his pick before. or for that matter writen him before.

Welcome to the forum!!

If you want to request a photo / autograph of Elton John, you will need:

1. A letter saying what you like about his work, and request for photo
2. Envelopes - you will need 2, one with postage on it and addressed to him (enclosing everything you'll be sending to him) and the other envelope addressed to you, so he can return something back to you.
3. A photo to be signed (optional) - he normally sends out his own pre-printed photos so I don't think it'll be necessary.

You will need to stick enough postage on the envelope to have it returned to you (if you live in the same country as where you'll be sending the request). Since you'll be sending it to the UK, you'll need to buy International Reply Coupons (for infomation on what an IRC is, check out this link here).

I believe your a little confused, If you like you can send a pic(of him) for him to sign, or you can request a photo when you write, most celebs will provide a photo if you ask nicely
