I have seen Sybille multiple times. I appreciate the hard work that went into that film.
This is a true story and may show just what a performance it really was.
My dog, Cocoa was a medium poodle who NEVER paid any attention to the television. When Sybille was on, however, she absolutely went crazy. She tried to find the person who was crying out for help. Cocoa tried to get behind the TV, on to the screen and barked at the speakers. This happened for the whole film. Cocoa truly believed that someone was in deep trouble and was trying to get to them.
As noted, she never did anything like it before or again. This was 20 years ago, but when I see Miss Fields or hear of Sybille, I get chills remembering that day.
I have wanted to tell Miss Fields of the event but never could figure where to find her. I hope somehow this gets to her. Perhaps a dog's opinion is not significant to others, but Cocoa sincerely could hear the terror in the voice that she could not find.
