Flash News : HEROES - Origins CANCELLED by NBC

Our friends at TVGuide gave us the bad news, Heroes: Origins (that’s the old name of the project, they’re thinking about changing the name) has been canceled by NBC because of the strike by the Writers Guild of America…

NBC has pulled the plug on Heroes: Origins, the Heroes spin-off that was slated to run next April. The network declined comment, but sources said the possible strike by the Writers Guild of America — which could happen after the guild’s contract expires midnight Thursday — played a role in the decision.

“Looking at everything in context of the strike, we’re evaluating all of our production commitments,” said one insider. “Scripts haven’t been written yet.”

Origins was designed to provide fans with six episodes of a fresh Heroes-related show in place of repeats in the spring. If the labor situation changes quickly, the network could revisit the decision to scrap the show. — Reporting by Stephen Battaglio

I first found this out from my friend and just thought that he was pulling my leg, but I researched it and when I found the article I was furious. No one really knows what is really going on, but something is up because HEROES in not the only series on strike. I watched the new last night and heard the writers of Desperate Housewives are as well going on strike. Something is really going wrong I just REALLY HOPE! HEROES does not stop.

???Heard the Strike:???
- Cut the series short
- made the writers are changing the ending
- ONLY 5 episodes to go!! WHAT!!!!????

:o

All writers are on strike I have friend that's on K-Ville's set and they're not filming anymore no new scripts. As are all other shows, which makes me mad.

According to "extra" a number of TV series are an or going on strike due to pay. Word is the shows are now bringing in a lot of money from online episodes and the writers aren't getting a cut from that so are now going on strike. :?

 http://extratv.warnerbros.com/2007/11/s ... _go_on.php

Just a small list of TV shows on strike:
-HEROES
-24
-Lost
-Desperate Housewives
- and more....
