I might try that "gerbil city" thing you did, but i'll have to get an old aquarium somewhere

I would try it if you can, it is pretty cool to watch

I found this picture of something similar, although they have used a mixture of what looks like peat and sawdust/shavings, but it gives you the general idea!!

It is also much quieter - no bars to chew

Thanks for the compliments on my little Rusty ! He is insanely quick around his huge "chin condo" as we call it (it's 4 levels and about 5 1/2 feet tall!). The other day we were watching him and he moved so quickly that he made Sydney cry because he startled her! But they're adorable little creatures...no chinchilla coats in our house ;) .

Gerbils are so cute too ! About how long do they live for? We had a hamster when my son was very young, but he only lived about 2 years and we all get way too attached to pets for only having them that long ;). Chins are supposed to live approximately 15-20 years, which I've very glad of {thumb2}!

P.S. Awesome idea for a "gerbil city" there Ian...I bet that was pretty neat to get to watch!!!
