Going to College?

Hi,
In my country,High School and College is the same thing.You can call it either.I don't know how things work there but here,when you're in the last class in elementry school,you write an exam called 'S.E.A' and you send in a form with four top choices of school you want to go to and according to your marks,you pass for your 1st choice(If you did really well ),2nd,3rd or 4th.I passed for my first choice a year ago and if I had to put myself in a grade in the U.S,I would be in the 7th.My scool is A.S.J.A Girls' College(A girl school ).

for most unis here you do an online form, where you choose 5 uni/course combos and put in your personal info and exams you're taking, as well as the beast that is the personal statement (i hated that thing). you send that off then wait to hear back to see if they'll make you an offer based on as grades (or whatever equivalent) and predicted grades. then they either reject you or make an offer of grades/ucas points to get, or ask for an interview before they make it. you choose a first choice and an insurance choice, then, just sit your a2 exams and hope you get what you need to get in

(unless you want to go to oxford/cambridge or do some popular course like law/medicine which involves a lot moreforms, money and exams )

In the US u can go to basically any college as long as you have the grades and test scores, Miami University is the best school in Ohio :o

Isn't Ohio State better? It's a big ten school.

No they are just better at football lol, just because its a bigger school does not make it better. It is a huge party school and Miami is harder to get into.

Yeah, Ohio State (GO BUCKS!) is just a huge college of over 50,000 that is known for football. The real party school in Ohio is Ohio University. I go to Ohio Wesleyan by Columbus. I was thinking about Miami but it's too preppy for my tastes. I don't like waking up everyday and feeling like I'm in a Banana Republic magazine (no offense).

Yeah none taken lol, yeah pretty much everyone here has a North Face. A kid from my high school plays on the basketball team at Ohio Wesleyan. Btw, I hate Ohio University lol
