THEYVE STOPPED IRC's

Unread post by mymymy »

I never had trouble getting hold of IRC's/International Reply Coupons until this week; ive been to half of the london post offices and rthey all dont have nay saying they are now phased out!!!!!! Although not lawyas ideal, they are the only alterantive to US postage if wanting a reply from the US; yes, some people dont reply with them as it means them going to the post office but may do, for example James Earl Jones, Jeremy Sumpter, Kate Boswortha nd Tony Shaloub VV currently in theatre. Very dissaponting as they are no toffering an alternative; I wish the UK post offices sold US stamps!!! :( a sad day

I'm very surprised that, as a TM, you've posted this lol.

IRCs have not been "phased out".

The current list of countries selling them: http://www.upu.int/irc/en/irc_countries_list_en.pdf (correct on 13th April).

It surprises me because we repeatedly get people turning up and posting saying they have been told that IRCs are no longer available. It's not true, it never has been true, and we repeatedly have to reassure people that you can still buy them. There are multiple topics in Collecting Help about this, they crop up every few weeks, have you not seen them?

IRCs are still available yes, I bought some recently. Try larger branches of post offices, you may have to try several more until you find some.

I bought some today, from a London post office, although admittedly, I did have to shop around a little.

To get IRC's I have to go to the main post office in my town to get them. my local one post office do not have them but they have to order them in if I wanted them. I got that impression from the royal mail website that they are at larger branches.

'Sending an International Reply Coupon with your mailing means the recipient can reply to you for free or by paying only part of the postage cost. You can buy the coupons from most large Post Office branches for just £1.40'

This is what the royal mail website says. The info is still on there. If there was any change the royal mail website would be updated to say otherwise. Which it hasn't. So don't worry :)

okay, okay

i apologise but I always use one of threee post offices and obviously found it worrying when all 3 of them yesterday told me they have stopped them! thats the only reason i satrted this post

this includes on of the biggest london post offices I know of. IRC's dont alwys work anyway; i hope that one day they start to seel international stamps worldwide; would make life soo much easier
