Re: Do people actually like the Jonas Brothers?
I'm in England so they're not that big over here...not at all really. All I know of them is that they are a band who have ripped off some of Busted's songs. Busted were the original band who sung 'What I Go To School For' and they were from England, so when I heard the JB version of it - I felt that they had ruined it.

I agree with Drixtion (sorry if I spelled that wrong) They play their own instruments, but I can't stand them.
Proper music ftw!
Proper music ftw!
Favourite successes: Paramore, New Found Glory, Death Cab For Cutie
Re: Do people actually like the Jonas Brothers?
They're just a B-grade boyband with guitars. If they think they're rock that must mean Britney Spears is death metal.
They're awful, and they'll fall off the scene in a year or two ;)

AUTHENTIC, OR NOTHING AT ALL.

The Jonas brothers "Self Titled" album was just recently released in the UK and the first single over there is "SOS". I think its hilarious that the new album here is "A Little Bit Longer", its like the UK is a Year behind as far as the Jonas Goes!
Due to the ignorance of some moderators, I will NOT be posting any further info on any of my successes.

I'm not a fan of their music but a lot of people don't like the music I listen to either! It would be a boring world if we all liked the same stuff

Yeah, I'm gonna be honest....I'm not a fan at all. I can't stand them or Miley Cyrus. Basically any of those "Disney Channel Stars" drive me insane. Which means, yes, I also despise High School Musical.
Anyway, sure they might play their own instruments, but so do a lot of people that are actually vocally talented, and those vocally talented people hardly get noticed because they're not the "in thing" at the moment. I like originality when it comes to music and the Jonas Brothers, to me, seem to be a carbon copy, whiney, oh woe is me, type boy band.
There is certain kinds of music, and certain artists that can still be as good 5 years from now as they were 5 years ago. (Basically all their music remains original and, in short, they never get old). But for the Jonas Brothers and Miley Cyrus and all those other Disney stars, once this 2 or 3 year craze is over, people will forget who they even are.
Just my opinion though.

I agree. There's no originality and a new, younger, better looking group will replace them when they get too old and people get tired of them. Same with Miley, unless she manages to do her own thing, which I don't see happening.
These teeny bopper performers like Miley and the Jonas Brothers .. what people seem to forget is that raw talent and originality has come along at YOUNGER ages, but they were not AIMED at the 12-13 year olds like the Disney clones are. Christina Aguilera(yeah she was mickey mouse club, so what) was young, Alanis Morissette was 19 (and her album is certified DIAMOND and she STLL holds the record for most amount of records sold for a debut female artist)... Miley Whorus can't touch that.

Just about everyone hates what I listen to as well. (Although my music tastes are pretty mixed!)margotchanning wrote:I'm not a fan of their music but a lot of people don't like the music I listen to either! It would be a boring world if we all liked the same stuff
And I just don't like the Jonas Brothers...I don't get what all the hype is about. Nothing new here.
And they have yet to top the charts like Hanson did with Mmmbop. The end.
WONDERLAND:Alice's New Musical Adventure enjoyed a short, but sweet run on Broadway in Spring of 2011!

I personally love SOS!
I think that they would have success even if they weren't with the disney channel. Take Aly&AJ for example, they were doing ok with the DC, then Potential Breakup Song came out, that was less to do with Disney, and it was a huge success..
