I started when i was on natalie and nicole appletons official site when they were a group called Appleton and there was a message from someone who had written to them and got an autograph so i thought it was worth a try to send them a letter as i was a big fan of theres since there all saints days. So anyway i wrote to them and within a week i had received a signed photo from them it was so exiting waiting for it to arrive and i guess i just got addicted to the "waiting for a reply" part of it and of course having a signed photo from someone you think rocks

how i started
i just first of all went to the collateral premiere and waited ages for an autograph but didnt get one so i decided to write a letter to tom cruise but didnt get a reply! so then i decided that id write to some more celebrities and i got some replies and its just gone from there especially now because i have tom cruise's autograph x3!!!!

Back in 2002, i became obsessed with Lord of the Rings. So I wrote to Billy Boyd and heard back from him about a month later. so i just started to write to people and then it just became a thing i do now. i wrote to Keira Knightley when Pirates of the Caribbean came out and had great success with her. so i just write to the people i'm a fan of.

Most current success: Eva Green & Sara Paxton

how long did it take to get a reply from 'phonics? I emailed them last month via their official site.

Re: How did you start?
I have quite a funny story about how I started.tinker_mel wrote:How did you guys start collecting autographs??
I wanted The Stereophonics autograph and just wrote the one letter.
Then I sent off the odd letter for friends birthdays.
And then around a month ago now I just slowly started collecting.
It kicked off majorly when I decided to quit smoking 2/3 weeks ago.
So far it's worked!!
Each time I fancy a cig, I just write another letter!
Mind you, writing and sending off the letters has cost me more than smoking lol

How did you guys start?
I was doing a Google images search for Ant and Dec, and I saw one of a signed photo. I looked at it, and there was a persons collection. I started chatting to them, and they suggested I start as well. I wrote off a few, then got hooked, and now I have over 300 autographs!

I always used to get autographs of the AFC Bournemouth football players before the match, and then my Dad sent off some football shirts to clubs and they came back signed. I started to go to movie conventions and wanted to get some addresses for a few movie stars and found this website. I can now write to whoever I want and so far I have had some really great successes.
I took a class on The Beatles and got REALLY interested so I decided I would write a letter to Paul and Ringo and George Martin etc. and then I found other people that I thought I'd like to write to also. The sad thing is that I didn't even think to realize that I could request autographs for awhile so I'm just getting my collection started. I actualy think it's a good start for 8 months!
