So one person lied, what of it? I don't think a lot of people run about lying on these forums, and we shouldn't automatically dismiss people who post successes with pictures/scans.

I don't get why someone would lie anyways, maybe it's just a kid thing to make themselves feel bigger. Wouldn't know.

I think it's pretty unfair that basically if you don't post a picture because a) you don't have the equipment b) you haven't the time or c) you're just too lazy then you're obviously lying and your success should not be counted. I know that's not the opinion of everyone here, but I'm getting that feeling from some people.

Because let's face it, you can google someone's autograph and post it as your own, so I wouldn't be too hasty to say a photograph is always proof of a success.

I always posted pictures when I first joined - you can go check and see. After a while, when I had to upload the picture to my computer, edit it, resize it, upload it, I got lazy so I stopped. So now people may say I'm lying because I no longer post a picture?

I too like looking at pictures, but the only purpose they serve for me, is what photo the celebrities they themselves send out. But I don't go into a tantrum when someone posts a success without a photo because the chances are someone else will.

I'll admit, I fall into the "lazy" category, but there are people out there who collect autographs and who want to contribute to this community but don't have a camera and a scanner and until there is a "must post picture" rule, I don't see any problem if people chooose not to, or just can't, post pictures.

Since when can you only come to this site if you post a picture? Did I miss something here since I first joined, or has a new rule been added? And it's not actually "the point" at all. The point is to post a success - a success is a success with or without a picture. Look back at some older successes and you'll find pictures that have been removed or fail to load.... are they now lying because you can't see the picture? You don't know what they were originally, so how can you be sure they are genuine?

And who are you to tell people not to use equipment as the reason for not upoloading pictures? Do you know people's personal and financial details? Do you know how many years they may have had their computer, whether it was gifted to them, or they scraped and saved for it? I'm sure currently, people have better things to spend lots of money on, than a camera so people on here won't acuse them of lying if they get a success.

And I don't use TinyPic because it doesn't load on my internet server and I can't see it to upload things. I actually shouldn't have to explain my actions to do, but as you're obviously convinced that everyone out there has the right equipment and the means and ways of posting thing easily, I thought I would at least correct you that not everyone does even something as simple as TinyPic.

Calm down johnny's fan i didn't start this topic to have people start arguments about it i simply stated that i don't think posted successes should be recorded as successes without pictures,people can still post them but without pictures i personally don't see the point of posting and i like to see pictures for a few reasons one being to see the auto and photo they sent and also to see the picture and return envelope for proof its a genuine success.I really think if people have the ability to post pics with their success then they should and if not they can post it sure but i won't count it as a success it's like would you buy something without seeing it first probably not,the proofs in the picture... {thumb2} Not to mention the posts are boring without pictures i think most would agree.Musicfan is right we do want to see the pictures so we know the address is valid and worth writing too

I have no problem with your opinion johnnylightning and others like you, as I originally said, I can see your point. But I take exception to the fact that certain people are suggesting that basically if you don't post pictures why should you bother being on fanmail, and that there are no good reasons not to post pictures, like everyone in the world must own a camera or a scanner.

It might just be me, (and it looks like it is), but that is hardly fair, considering from what I have seen, there are no penalties for not posting pictures, although I get the the distinct impression some people wish there were.

That is all I was really trying to say.
