if theres a chance they'll stack it down the hill, i enjoy it  the downhill was pretty good for that, been watching the snowboardcross today, thats pretty decent. i do like the lone brits in it though, and the commentators saying how good it is to come in the top 30  they're all pretty pointless sports though. just sliding around and falling over every now and then...better than doing work though :D

It seems like all the buzz about the Olympics completely died down where I am. I guess the lack of stars this year is beginning to take it's toll.

American Idol also clobbered the Olympics last night in the ratings.. kinda interesting to see all these shows performing well up against the Olympics. Except the CW of course.

That is the reality of it all and 90% of people living here agree with me but that doesn't get on tv !
What your saying is most likely true, and I have absolutely no idea what B.C. is like, however I think the boost to your tourism industry would be of far greater benefit to the people then a new bridge. Although I def. agree about the need for the event to be "for the people", so if the tickets are too expensive, then that is definitely not on. But I think people these days have forgotten how to have fun ;-) Hell, the government in my state spends money on jack squat anyway,so I would love it if they spent money on a international event!

On a side note, when the media says "the taxpayers have to pay" etc etc, I always feel it is deliberately inflaming. People sadly have to pay tax anyway, and the tax rate does not increase specifically for these things. Besides people don't have a say of where the money goes anyhow, so as long as it is not being used to say, transport a convicted terrorist back to my hometown(that actually did happen), it really should not mater.

Ugh I am beyond mad right now about how unfair speed skating was. That silver medal was Apolo's! But yeah nice how the Canadian ref ignored the first Canadian "push" the Korean but when Apolo barely had a touch he was disqualifed. Like Apolo said the games are in Canada it was a Canadian ref and they wanted their home people on the stands.

That was a messed up call. No one should've been DQ'ed.

There was no way Ohno could've pushed him, his hand was already on him for several seconds before he fell. The Korean falling was his own fault as well, he just tried to grabbed the Canadian as he fell.

A British skater was also kicked out, even though the pushing and shoving with the competitors at that point is all part of the race. Needless to say she is meant to have hindered the Canadian, which she didn't and anyway, no one knows why the race wasn't just simply restarted as is stated in the rules.

I enjoyed the games, but there were definitely some problems.

NBC hasn't exactly been great with their Olympics coverage, but I think they hit a new low with the closing ceremony. They cut into the middle of it to debut a new TV show before going back to a (taped) closing ceremony.

Also have to wonder what the hell Canada was thinking, letting arguably their two worst exports Avril Lavigne and Nickelback perform. Poking fun at the fourth torch at the start was kinda cute though.
