I thought the main point was that it wasnt realistic
Unrealistic? And you think the other James Bond's are! With a huge giant with metal teeth, a guy who can turn people into gold, and a big ice palace...I don't think this is realistic.

James Bond isn't supposed to be realistic, MI6 isn't anything like it. However, this Bond is the most realistic of all of them because most of it was Daniel Craig doing the stunts and not CGIed and it doesn't take place in obscure places like space for instance! And remember this is supposed to be the first in the franchise, so James Bond hasn't quite got the edge that he picks up throughout the rest of the films.

Eva Green was wonderful, and it was a change. Instead of having girls for 'eye-candy', we had Vesper, a smart and intelligent woman who was on the same wavelength as Bond. I had seen her in 'Kingdom of Heaven' previously, and thought she was great...and my usually theory is that relatively unknown actors and actresses are often best for big budget films because they aren't yet overwhelmed by fame.

Bond didn't need more ladies, as this film was supposed to show a different side to him. Otherwise, it would be like all the others...BORING...it needed a new light on it...and it has!

Great film, great cast, great story...keep them up Daniel!! {clap}

i dont really think you can make comparisons between this and other bond films, its quite clear in it that they're distancing it from whats come before. for example, m's little quip about how she misses the cold war - they didn't need to put that in. to me that makes it sound like they want you to forget what came before and see this casino royale as the starting point. if that all makes sense...

in my opinion though you cant compare any bonds to others, cos mostly each actor plays it in a different way. couldnt do it with roger moore/daniel craig could you?

you're poster aquiring has left me inspired to pop in at some point and see if there any little a3 promotional ones lying around - ive got some good stuff free from that cinema

I watched it again tonight :)

Sat next to two annoying girls though who were like 11 years old
They whispered frequently and giggled when the love/sex scenes were.
The worst thing was in the torture sequence, when Chiffre says
"You've taken good care of your body". They then bursted out "NO!" :x

Stay away from 15+ movies next time please :x

However, I couldn't ask for a poster tonight. It was crowded tonight aswell and afterwards there was noone there

you misread my quote.. the other ones werent.. that was supposed to be the point

I think this film bites mainly because they tried to modernize it

Like with the modernized Romeo and Juliet

you just cant do it :|

and I completely disagree with your comment that if it had more ladies it would be boring.. thats bond.. hes a ladies man.. you can't change who bond is and have a good remake...bond only has one side.. and Daniel Craig did not portray it
How did we get here? I used to know you so well

I thought the song choice was bad. In reviews, that's the only think that's been slated :|

Ah I'm suprised that i've not seen this topic before.

One of my favourites. After the second viewing though I started to pick up on its faults and how un-bondish it is. However I thought Mads Mikkelsen was a terrific villain and as was Jesper Christensen as Mr. White. Eva Green was absolutely gorgeous as was Solange. The action scenes were amazing. Daniel Craig made a brilliant Bond. However George Lazenby is still my favourite.
