Haven't read the book yet so I don't know if it's anything a like but I have heard that there were a couple parts that were added. Anyways the movie was very interesting and well thought out. The beginning of the plot is pretty typical but overall the whole thing was quite out of the ordinary. Also the cast was shockingly good. The main girl is 14 and was in Atonement. Having not seen that movie I was amazed to see that she wasn't a bad actress.
Definitely recommend the movie!
