Hi!
This week I saw two films in the theatres:
"Disaster Movie" and
"Quantum of Solace".

One was one of the best films I've ever seen and the other is the worst film
ever... go figure!

Here's my reviews:
Disaster Movie:
My rating: 0/10
Well, the name really says it all - a complete
disaster (although that feels like an understatement!).

No storyline, pathetic acting (yes you, Kim Kardashian!), not funny at all! Now, I have no problem with movies such as the "Scary Movie" series, because that's clever, funny and actually very enjoyable. "Scary Movies" has it's special, memorable moments which makes the movies popular. But really, "Disaster Movie" should've gone straight to DVD - no wait, it's not even worth to be on DVD!

My silly friend dragged me to go see it with her, I kept on declining but finally gave in the day before we went, and I still regret it so much that I wasted my Tuesday morning to go see such rubbish - and that while the cinema prices went up!

It tried to copy "Scary Movie"
so much (the Dr Phil character, etc, etc...), it just came out horrible. This film has to be the most annoying, most boring and most horrible film that I have
ever seen - avoid this as far as you can! Thumbs down all the way!
Quantum of Solace:
My rating: 9½ / 10
I went to see "007: Quantum of Solace" with my mom today, and wow, were we impressed (still are)!

The second film with the amazing Daniel Craig as the special agent
James Bond, really lived up to the hype after the refreshing "Casino Royale". {thumb2} The film picks up where it last left off in "Casino Royale", and it is action, action, action all the way.

The film is packed with suspense, humour and awesome action scenes the whole 106 min of it (shortest official Bond film ever made).

And that's coming from a woman!

Mr. Craig was, yet again, absolutely incredible as the cool
James Bond - he's a brilliant actor (obviously), looks fantastic and pulls off hard-core action moves and hilarious humour (hitting that guy off his bike!) at the same time.

Sure, Sean Connery may be the original Bond, but Craig is by far my favourite one ever (since he was announced as the new Bond, was I excited). {thumb2} Daniel Craig really made the role his own and created a whole new aspect to Bond - muscular, rebelious and at the same time, sensitive. I'm looking forward to hopefully a few more Bond films with him as 007! As for Craig's co-stars, they all delivered great, believable performances too. Olga Kurylenko as
Camille is my favourite Bond girl so far - she actually had a likeable character, unlike most of the other Bond girls (yes, I was never a fan of Halle Berry as a Bond girl...).
Camille is a tradgic character - same as Bond, she wants revenge. And thankfully, she's not just yet another (boring) Bond girl running after 007 and swimming in a bikini - no, none of that - she's on a mission of her own.

The audience are sympathetic towards
Camille - she has a sad past. Kurylenko really gave a solid performance.

Mathieu Amalric was the villian
Dominic Greene, he was good but to me, overshadowed by his co-stars. He was a creepy villian nonetheless and was believable. The only thing I didn't really like about this film was... the theme song!

It wasn't nearly as good as previous ones (my favourite one so far is definitly Chris Cornel's "You Know My Name").

If you're looking for a fun, exciting film, I strongly recommend "Quantum of Solace" (although it might help if you first watch "Casino Royale").

Thanks for such an amazing film!
Regards,
zanne
