As truely awful of a musical Legally Blonde turned out to be in some aspects, I absolutely love it. Honeslty, any show with a song called "Omigod You Guys" would turn me off right away, but I even like that song! As I'm sure it's known, I'm a big Broadway fan, and for some reason I can't turn it off sometimes

! Also, it has one of my favourite 'moments' in a show ever -- during So Much Better. That whole scene! Similar to like Norma Desmond going back to the studio in SUNSET BLVD., A New Life in Jekyll & HYDE, etc.
I almost tried to see it on Broadway back in January with Laura Bell Bundy, but I opted to see Les Miserables for my 4th (and what I thought would have been my final time, oops!) to see one of my top 3 favourite theatre stars of all time: Judy Kuhn!! I did catch it on MTV when it showed (and was shocked they did that too!). My family saw it though!
I watched the reality show every Monday. I was actually quite pleased with the talent they came up with (other than Derek Keeling, Laura Osnes & Ashley Spencer, the GREASE show sucked talent wise), and how they loved to deceive everyone with "None of these people have EVER been on Broadway"...but regardless I was routing for Emma Zaks, Natalie & Bailey Hanks from the get-go.
I actually intend to see the upcoming national tour. One of my three favourite performers (LOL sound familiar) will be playing BROOKE on the tour,
COLEEN SEXTON, and that's my most wanted autograph so I intend to get it then/there too! I actually would believe she auditioned for Elle, and they said NO!!! (LOL), because she's older. Certainly has the voice & type of voice to do it though! Actually no one understands why she didn't get the role of Vivenne, because that seems more suitable for her based off previous credits...KATE SHINDLE from the Broadway company actually understudy COLEEN in the role of LUCY in the Broadway production of JEKYLL & HYDE! I also wished that ANNALEIGH ASHFORD (the original Margot on Broadway) would have done the tour. I heard her one time she got to go on on YouTube and she sounded incredible. A little too sority girl, but I think that's osmething she could fix. Becky on the other hand ... I'm a little worried about. Regardless, I hope I get to see Lauren as Elle (from the TV Show)!
So in short, as bad as I know it is, it's so unbelieveably catchy and upbeat that one completely overlooks stupid lyrics like "OMIGOD YOU GUYS" & "Lose the gum Kate, you look the maid!" (<<my fav bad lyric) & "Hand me my dog, give my bag, and that American flag"...the list goes on but I still enjoy it.
However, not looking too good right now

. The Nederlander Theatre Organization's theatres are basically all booked up (The Palace is one) and with the upcoming revival of West Side Story going to a Nederlander theatre, ... I hope Blonde can convince them to keep the theatre! Plus, the grosses are going steep down!! Let's hope LB makes it through next summer! It's funny, it's like The Scarlet Pimpernel. Producers LOVE the show and keep throwing money into it, and a big organization (for Pimpy Radio City Entertainment, for Blonde MTV) comes in and keeps the show alive for a little.
And for autographs: Headshot of LBB & Playbill with Bailey Hanks signed (with Elle listed as "MTV Reality Winner")
