Chinese Democracy anyone??

Unread post by Classikmetal »

I thought that I would make this post about Guns N' Roses new album, Chinese Democracy. :D I know there are a lot of GNR fans out there and I know that you probably have been awaiting this as well. I thought the album was great. It wasn't PERFECT or anything, it just very interesting and the sound is just amazing. I was actually hoping that this album would fail miserably like others since Axl has mocked us with fake releases and such. It's hard not to like the new album though. It's not half bad for waiting 15 years for it!! You can't really say that Axl didn't put a lot of effort and creativity into this.

What are your guys thoughts on the album? :D

When I get back from my vacation I'm definitely going to have a listen to this album. But I don't think I'll ever get used to the fact that GnR is not the way I used to know them a few years back. Which of their previous albums would you say it sounds most similar to? Or has Axl taken it in a completely different direction? :)

I haven't listened to any songs on it, but I've been told it sounds like nickleback {down} I shall listen to it when I get round to it.

If it sounds anything like Nickelback I'll be completely disgusted :?

Yeah, it's an ok album, but I wouldn't say that it sounds like Nickelback. I don't think Axl would even think of stooping down to that level. Reviewers said it sounds like a bit of Appetite and a bit of Use Your Illusion, with a hint of just about everything in today's music (there is a lot of hip-hop influence for some reason. lol) . It's interesting how Axl put it together...and in 15 years, too. I would've expected more out of it. At least there should've been songs that could live up to Metallica's and AC/DC's album this year. I hate to say it but there are some crappy ones in the album...

Looking forward to hearing it. Can't believe the album finally came out after all these years.
